A little more than a year ago, I had gastric bypass surgery. Like most folks, I don't have a huge amount of money to re-buy a new wardrobe every time I go down a size (I have gone from a 5x in some things to a M or Large so you can guess how many new wardrobes that would be.) I set out to find a ""nice"" consignment store (nice--clean/fresh/nice folks). I follow the rules (come at the right time/wash/press/hang) and am always treated with courtesy. If time allows, the ""take in folks"" even pass the time talking with me. I have read many of these other reviews and I have not had those experiences. Wow! I am not sure how legal or ethical it is to run down someone's business in such a public forum; if an employee was inappropriate with you--complain there, if the price is too high for you don't want to press or iron your clothes, I am sure there are other places. I have never seen or heard anyone offering prayers of any stripe, nor have I seen employees be anything but respectful to one another. I like feeling ""safe"" about my 2nd hand purchases; I like the quality of the things there without the full retail price. And I am far from rich (nor do I live in W. Knoxville nor do I know any of these ladies personally.) Blessings to all! more

This store has tons of expensive 2nd hand clothing, and tons of arrogant attitude. I was waiting on a friend to try on clothes and heard the woman at the back speak rudely to a consignor AND an employee. Very condescending and appears to be have control issues. Prices are inflated and only worth shopping during one of their sales, which happen in June and January. Don't bother any other time. As for consigning, they won't give back your unsold clothing, they keep it and give it to a Baptist Church. I think you should have the option of taking back your own clothes. in a nutshell, consign somewhere else, and only shop on the last day of the sales in June and January. Also, they keep HUGE amounts of clothing in another room down the sidewalk. The clothes in that room may or may not be clean or up to date. Again, consign somewhere else, shop only on the last day of the two sales. more

As a former employee of Repeat (10+ years ago) I can honestly tell you that the attitude you're picking up from the owner and her in-take clone (both control freaks) is real. Employees are bullied and harshly controlled while cash registers are prayed over daily - I know because I had to endure those prayers. Consigners are not all equal: if you're have local name recognition and wealth, your clothes are gladly accepted - no matter the condition of the crotch of your consigned pants. If you're ordinary and turn in the same brand of clean and pressed clothing as the wealthy, you're likely turned away - with attitude!! Employee rules are arbitrarily applied, depending on who the clone wants to ""minister"" to. Prices are arbitrarily applied depending on who consigner is. This ""Christian"" business gives other Christian business a bad name. They're bulldogs when it comes to shoplifting, assuming the worst and they don't like children - except for the owner's granddaughter. Consigner and Buyer beware!! more

My Mom takes our stuff there. She says she LIKES the ""take in lady"" because she is SO strict. That way we get good stuff and not nasty or wrinkled stuff. She doesn't mean to be ""tough"", but I imagine 100 or 200 women a day coming in and some of them not being too careful about what they bring would eventually get on anyone's nerves. Don't take it so personally--it's fashion! It's fun! There are other places to go if you would rather, but Mom says they are careful! more
