Fun Event 9/25/2005

The Renaissance Festival is a fun annual event every year fall in Kansas City. It's a great cultural activity and each of the weekends has it's own theme and the events are geared around that theme. There is entertainment for all ages, so bring the entire family. There are often discount coupons available in the Entertainment book and other areas so it is pretty affordable for a day of fun. Bring you wallet though--tons of vendors selling crafts, toys, artwork, clothing, food, etc. One note of caution: don't go right after it has rained, the place can be a mud hole! more

Great fun at that time of year 8/15/2005

The Renaissance Fesitval is an amusment facility that starts around labor day weekend and goes every weekend through the beginning of November (if I remember right). The theme is basically celebrating the medeval times of england. The Fesitval is in Kansas City, KS, not to be confused with Kansas City, MO. It is by the Verizon Ampitheater. Its great for families and has about something for everyone. The food has always tasted good to me, mostly the turkey legs which are a must to try if you visit this place. Pizza on a stick is also one of my favorites. There are alot of shops, about 40, that specialize in everything from glasswork to palm reading. The shows are wonderful attractions also. Some must-see's are the jousting and the human chess board. You can also join in with full-contact battles, where they suit you up in armor and let you go at it yourself. There are approx. 10 stages throughout the grounds that have different shows that include comedians, jugglers, animal shows, and pretty much whatever you can think of. If my memory serves me correctly I believe that the ticket prices are about $13-15 per adult. The usually have promotions with various companies to get a dollar or two off. If you are in the Kansas City Metropoliton area around this time frame it is a great way to spend the weekend. more

Ren Fest. 8/14/2005

The kansas city renaissance festival is an annual festival held near the verizon wireless ampitheatre. This is a fairly cheap festival, which can be a great learning experience for you and your small children! See knights, kings, bar maids, and other characters that are local kansas city actors, and eat a big turkey drum stick while you are there! more
