I am the adult child of two very excellent hairstylists, and as their longtime guinea-pig, i have had multiple good (and bad) hairstyles. I was new to the area, and had loved the last Regis salon i used in FLorida, so i gave this one a shot. I had naturally dirty blonde hair with lots of grown-out highlights, and i wanted to go dark. I plainly and confidently told my 22 year old stylist that i wanted ""single process color, in a chocolate-cherry level 3 shade"". It could not have been more basic. I also added that she may need to use a warm-toned filler first, as my hair was light and tended to turn ashy easily. I thought i was being the ideal client, as i was basically mapping out this appointment for her. She porceeds to breing out the book of color swatches, which should have been my cue to turn and run. I HATE seeing the swatch book...it says to me that the stylist is not confident in their ability to mix my color cased on sheer knolwedge and experience...they need the book to show them exactly what ratio of colors and activators to use. I pointed to a color called...no lie...""Chocolate Cherry"". She trotted off to mix the color, and i sat in my chair chatting with the 4 other (not busy) stylists, also sitting around in their client chairs. The girl came back, slapped my color on, and ONE HOUR LATER...my hair was green-black. I will never know what happened in that color mixing room, but i do know that i spent the next two hours in that same chair, waiting for her to figure out what she did wrong. I am a very patient person, and i will usually give a good stylist quasi-free reign over my hair...but for the first time in my life, i felt like crying when i left this salon.
