This is one of our favorite spots in Charlotte - great, authentic food. I have a friend who lived in Eritrea (above Ethiopia) for a year, and it's by far his favorite restaurant... he says the food is even better there than it is overseas. The "bread", enjira, is supposed to be slightly sour - it is made from fermented teff. more

Food is great. The bread tastes a little sour for the first time. But that's what you gonna love about it when you get used to it. The place is specially great if you go in a group because they have this round table settings, which make you feel like you are outside. more

Not that great.... 7/12/2005

My experience with the food was that the taste was nothing to rave about. They served the meal on a very large round piece of bread, which was neat, but the bread tasted really sour and plain. The spices were nice, but nothing stood out as being terrific. Atmosphere wasn’t very good. There were murals on the wall and some middle-eastern motif, but the room felt bare and so open that it was non-private. I would look elsewhere. more
