TERRIBLE SERVICE 12/27/2010

My husband and I have made a tradition of going to Red Dragon on Christmas Day for the last 4 years. It's always been full/busy but not long wait time - and always great food, solid service, and appropriately priced. This year, my parents and sister were visiting so we took them too. It was AWFUL. The waitstaff were clueless - I honestly think they'd never worked there before. I should have known we were in trouble when my husband ordered a Heineken and the waitress asked if that was a beer. We ordered food family-style, plus 2 of us got soup. The appetizer came out correct and timely. The soup arrived wrong - only 1 came out and it wasn't what either of us ordered. They quickly corrected the soups...and then we waited...and waited...and waited...for about 45 minutes. We saw other diners having similar issues, waiting for food, having difficulty flagging down the staff for drink refills or to-go boxes. The place was full but people came in staggered enough that it should have been manageable. Our food FINALLY arrived...and it was barely lukewarm. Only 1 dish was hot - which was served on a skillet. Even the rice was room temperature. Rather than send it back and wait even longer, we requested boxes so we could heat it up and eat at home. At this point, the hostess (manager?) came over and when we told her that the food was not hot, she said, ""that's not possible."" We got our check (on which nothing was comped, despite our fuss) - paid exact change in cash and walked out. All that being said, the food itself was good. But NOT worth it to put up with the service. Not only do we have to find a new place for Christmas Day, we're NEVER going there again and will tell all our friends the same. more

Used to be our favorite place--until... 9/3/2010

Not good for take out--watch out!! Good service until something goes wrong. This used to be our favorite stop for chinese take out until we had a bad experience with a mix up of our order. We call the same take out order each time and they messed it up--probably due to new staff or a language problem--it was their mistake not ours. The reaction of the management was very disappointing. We discovered the mistake when we got home. We called and they said drive back to pick up the right order. After changing clothes, getting back into the car, and driving back, they met us at the door and refused to credit our meal--they wanted us to keep both meals as a way to make amends. Poor customer service. They lost our business over a 8 dollar meal mix up! more

Great for Take-Out 3/31/2010

We live in Breckenridge and get take out from here about once a month. It is a pretty typical chinese restaurant with the typical menu (though I really like their steamed meals with sauce on the side). Not really any cons, you get exactly what you expect to get from a chinese take out and you get it everytime. I would recommend. Pros: Location, convenience, reliable quality more

Delicious! Authentic! Fresh! GREAT! 11/14/2009

I've only done take out, but from what I've seen, the interior is cozy and pleasant. More specifically, the food! I love sesame chicken, and this is the best I've had- it's not overly coated- it's light, while still having a crisp coating and a sweet savory sauce! The spring rolls are a few bites of heaven, and the broccoli chicken, besides being a little low on broccoli, was awesome as well! Pros: Great Food Cons: Wish it wasn't so far from my house! more

Good for what it's worth 6/5/2009

The atmosphere is pleasant and the lunch prices are reasonable. The soups are very good and always hot and fresh. I agree with the one complaint about the staff, they aren't the most pleasant people but aside from that you can have a nice dining experience. With regards to food, it is ok, not highly recommended as some of the other reviewers but good enough for us to return once a month. Pros: soups Cons: staff more

Great Food! 5/31/2008

Best Chinese place in Cary area! We go here all the time and love it. I think the service is good. The waiters are always playful with our son and respond to our requests. The Honey Chicken is my favorite dish and the Crab Rangoon is delicious. Highly recommended! Pros: Food, Friendly more

Excellent food 4/14/2008

I love this place. I always say you can tell a good Chinese restaurant by how they cook their Sesame Chicken - and it is amazing at Red Dragon. more

Not your average take out restaurant 3/6/2008

This isn't rushed take out. It is good quality, well prepared food. I think the last reviewer (IPT?) may be the owner of a nearby takeout. Try the Orange Beef or better yet the Beef with Lobster. The staff is always courteous. You won't be disappointed. Pros: Tasty Food, well prepared more

FOOD(with insects) ,SERVICE, HOSPITALITY IS DAAM PATHETIC. 3/3/2008

You wont find a cent of hospitality in these people even though their business is one.Just a day back I bought a parcel of kung pao chicken for dinner and found a insects(R***) in it.By next day evening when i took back the chicken to red dragon to show them....instead of listening to me they started misbehaving by showing me eyes, raising their pitch and then showing me exterminator certificate.Person behind the counter didnt even bother to listen to me for quiet a time and later tried to end the topic by blaming me that i should have looked well before eating.I lost my patience and temper when another employee in the counter started acting weird by showing wide open eyes and pointing finger at me and telling me to ""sshh"" when his colleague was screaming at me. Cons: unhygenic food with insects and unacceptable behavior more

Very good Chinese, will return to try the rest of the menu 11/30/2007

Pretty good Chinese. I had Sa Cha Scallops on the lunch menu. $6.75. Excellent value. I had never heard of Sacha sauce, but I had noticed it seemed prevalent on the menu, so it must be good - right? Well...it was! Ample scallops, crunchy broccoli, onions and sliced water chestnuts. Pros: Good, fresh Chinese food at good prices. Cons: May have to wait during peak lunch times. more

Fantastic, authentic Chinese food 5/30/2007

This is the best Chinese food I've eaten in the Triangle area, and I've eaten Chinese food in a lot of places, including NYC and the metro DC area. My boyfriend and I ordered the steamed pork dumplings, they were cooked perfectly with a subtle, sweet soy-based sauce. The fried lobster/general tso's chicken combo was wonderful since the batter was light and crispy on the lobster and heavier on the general tso's chicken with very distinct sauces. I had a stir-fried duck dish and they weren't skimpy on the duck! The service was attentive, and when I asked for a take-home container, they even boxed it in front of me. Elegant decor, excellent prices and value for the deliciousness you get. Highly recommended for couples. Pros: Delicious food, nice decor Cons: Large groups may have to wait awhile since it's a small restaurant more

Best chinese food in the area 3/10/2007

My fiancee and I moved here from NYC about 20 months ago and we struggled and struggled to find a good chinese restaurant in this area. Finally - Red Dragon opened in Morrisville and we were completely sold. The best General Tso's chicken in the Triange (that we've had!) thus far and the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce is spectacular. Give it a try! Pros: Food quality, location, size of menu, service more
