Towson's Spot for the Bands 12/29/2005

I go to the Recher once a year just before Christmas to see my friends from high school play. Their band, Hard, opens for the local Baltimore band Plunge. They play every year around the same time. Tickets for the show are only $5 however there is another $5 fee if you are under 21. I'm not sure why people under 21 have to pay but people over 21 don't have to and they are the ones drinking. It made me pretty made last time I went. They guy checking id's was pretty rude too. The theatre is not sit down if that's what you're thinking. good venue 10/11/2005

The Recher Theater is a great place to catch a live show. The prices are reasonable and the acoustics are good. They have had some fairly big bands play here over the years and some local ones too. It's connected to the Rec Room next door, so you can go get a bite to eat before, during or after a show (yes they let you go back and forth) more

Intimate club great atmosphere 9/19/2005

This venue is intimate and provides a up close interaction with the band that is playing. Every now and then a semi big band plays the venue. The staff is great and it has a small club appeal of small stage. If you like the group that is playing I would recommend that you check it out. more

local or national bands, great venue 8/24/2005

Recher is overall a great concert venue! Ticket prices are relatively low, and you can even buy at the door (for smaller shows that won't sell out). Drink prices are steeper. No seating, it's all general admission, so it's important to get there early to stake out a good spot. Over the years, Recher has attracted a variety of bigger named bands and local artists, the best of both worlds. And the club's box office is open decent hours, so you can buy direct and skip annoying Ticketmaster fees! more

Cool venue to see local bands 8/16/2005

This is a cool place to see local bands play at. Occassionaly they will get somewhat popular / national bands to play there. Drinks are fairly cheap and the tickets are usually under 20 bucks. The ventilation is pretty bad during concerts which means if you don’t like the smell of smoke you may not have a good time. Other than that the place is pretty cool. The acoustics are great which really makes for a good concert. more
