Very gentle 3/1/2011

I've been going to Raymond Avenue Vet for my cats for years, since the days of Dr. Datt (I think that was his name). ?I've become friendly with the receptionists there, and I find the young women quite cheerful and helpful. ?My cats have received very good albeit expensive care at this clinic. Recently, my husband and I built a chicken ""tractor"" and begin keeping chickens in our yard for eggs and for their kick-ass fertilizer. ?Unfortunately, this week, one of the girls (Harriet) got very sick. ?I had no idea that Dr. Kay treated chickens too, until I called and asked. ?Seriously, there are not many vets in the area who treat chickens. Dr. Kay was very gentle with the poor bird; he didn't argue with me when I told him I wasn't willing to pay for xrays for a chicken, but instead worked with me to find a solution for her illness that fit a fair budget. ?He taught me a bit about the bird's anatomy when he showed me how give her antibiotic shots to treat her infection, and he helped me understand her need for a higher protein diet than she had been receiving. And Harriet is feeling so much better. ?She's back to her clucky self, and can't wait to get through her quarantine to rule the roost again. more

He truly loves animals 2/25/2011

I admit it, my cats are my kids. ?If I had more room, I'd have dogs too, and they'd be my kids too! ?So when my big gray guy (Tucker) got sick, I was lucky to have the docs at Raymond Ave as my regular vets. ?Dr. Kay is so nice, and you can tell he truly loves animals. ?I love the fact that it's always Dr. Kay that I deal with. ?Even though he has hundreds (more?) of patients, I always feels like he remembers my cats. He evens calls a few days after seeing Tucker, asking how he is doing, how I'm doing (I'm the one who has to force meds down his throat - and it's amazing how many claws and paws a cat can grow when he doesn't want something forced down his throat!), and he also suggested some alternative treatments for his, um, ""blockage."" ?I'll spare you the rest of the ?gory details! I'm happy to have found a good vet so close to my home.? more

Great vet services! 2/24/2011

This is the best pet hospital I have been to in all of Southern California. The staff is friendly and great with the animals, and Dr. Kay is very knowledgeable. I wouldn't trust anybody else with my pets, and the prices are usually lower than the other vets I've been to. But mostly, I keep going back to Raymond because the people there go out of their way to make sure I'm happy. Every time I have an emergency, I can always count on Dr. Kay and the folks at Raymond Hospital. My dog had gotten sick suddenly and I didn't know what to do. I rushed him to Raymond, and Dr. Kay checked him up and treated him. He stayed overnight, and the next day I picked him up and he was fine again! I'm so grateful to Dr. Kay for being available and taking such good care of my puppy. Whenever I go by the hospital, everybody always asks me how my dog is doing. Great customer service and great vet services! more

Very happy! 2/17/2011

My family and I are very happy to have gotten back in touch with Dr. K and his staff. Since selling his practice in Monrovia a few years ago it's been a bit a of a challenge finding that ""right fit"" for our brood. But now we can rest easy! Sara remembered Jasper and I the second we walked in the door! We were greeted with a big smile and ""welcome back!"" Dr. K practices holistic medicine for animals and some may be skeptical but we are all about using these methods vs. pumping our children full of meds they don't need. One treatment is acupuncture..yes you heard me...acupuncture...we have two dogs with hip dysplasia and this has proven to be a very effective remedy for them. And since Dr. K went back to school he has learned of an even more effective method of the procedure that should have an even longer lasting effect that just the tiny needles!! (which are not painful at all...Jasper slept through his whole session!) :) It's a smaller facility, not luxuirous, but I don't mind that, keeps my cost down! Dr. K is very knowledable, patient and caring. I will reccomend him to anyone looking for a new Vet! more

Capable hands 2/2/2011

I was so happy to ""find"" Dr. Kay (Mohiuddin) back in practice after a few years of retirement. ?He had helped my previous dog with arthritis and hip dysplasia and is currently a god-send for my lab ?who had seizures. ?Since she has been getting acupuncture, she has had no episodes and seems to be even more well-balanced. ?Dr. Kay has such a calm, kind, loving way with animals. ?I feel totally confident to put my loved one's care in his very capable hands. ?I will continue to recommend Dr. Kay to friends. more

This Hospital Could Be Detrimental To Your Animal 2/22/2010

[]My dog was due for a fecal exam to test for parasites. On January 27th 2010, Raymond Avenue Veterinary Clinic took the fecal sample I submitted and charged me $40. Nearly two weeks later and after asking about it four times, Amber admitted that the test was never given and the fecal sample had been lost. After a few attempts to get around giving a refund, Amber claimed the $40 refund would be mailed out that day, February 9th. When it didn't come, my 5th attempt to correct the issue was made when I spoke to the office manager, Sara. Again a promise of a refund was given. It's been nearly one month since the service was to be done and they have been given 5 chances to rectify the mistake, yet they are full of excuses and false promises. Raymond Avenue Veterinary Hospital did not do the test, won't give back the money and the worst part is that my dog didn't get the test that could save his life---and they don't care. more
