best choice velveta 4/20/2012

Horrible - we went to a restaraunt next door last week and noticed the place was packed and decided to try it tonight. I had the fiesta burrito which stated it had queso over and it and stuffed with chicken/pork/beans. Well, it was drowning in queso which was basically cheap best choice velveta. Margaritas were overpriced and all they had was once kind. You couldn't even order a top shelf. My wife asked for a margarita menu and the bartender pointed to the spigot that was the only choice. My assumption is, the crowd was from the west/nearby and never ventured out. drive the extra 5 minutes and get real mexican. more

Good Stuff 5/3/2011

Love me some Rancho. Yes, of course it is Americanized Mexican, but shall we remember we are in America! Whenever you have an inkling for inexpensive yet quality food this is the place. I have been a customer for three years and will continue to go back! more

best freaking taco tuesdays anywhere 4/18/2011

I don't know about the drinks, never in 11 years have I had issues with the service, been all over the U.S.A and all I have to say is Rancho Grande Cantina has the BEST Taco Tuesdays ever in my 41 years of living. it is busy, noisy, confussing, hectic. but the taco's are worth it. it is two for one, the shells are not per-made. they are very fresh, and simple but so very good. the salsa is good but the extra hot needs a little help. I love this restaurant on tuesdays and wednesdays because the flautas are really good too. more

Poor quality 5/31/2010

I have lived 5 minutes from Rancho since 2002. Seen the quality of drink and food decline every since. Margaritas have gotten ""week"" and food marginal. If you like ALL of your food covered in an inch of cheese, this is your place. if you have not traveled outside of Platte County and tasted what quality Mexican food is like, this is your place. If you want ""cheep"" food, this is your place. If you want quantity over quality, this is your place. If you want to smell like cigarette smoke when sitting in the non-smoking section, this is your place. Many years ago I stopped visiting on ""Taco Tuesday"" because of the lack of manners shown by younger clientele who are there for the mass quantities of tacos at a low price. In fact, Parkville PD was called more than once to manage a disturbance related to the Taco Tuesday crowd. If you are looking for quality ""fresh"" Mexican food prepared in a smoke free dining experience, go to ""Agave"" located at Parkville Commons. Rancho, needless to say is NOT my place. Cons: Smokey more

Rancho Grande 4/30/2010

This is a good restaurant, food is real good-though it's not real Mexican food. Some of the staff at the bar, and when you first come in are a little rude. Pros: good food Cons: some staff more

Food OK 1/25/2010

This restaurant has yet to catch up to the NO Smoking trend. The smoking section is at the entrance of the restaurant where they also have you wait for a table. If you order take out the pick up is at the bar which is also in the smoking section. The ventilation is so poor that regardless of how much time you spend just passing through the smoking section you are stuck with the ashtray smell until you get home and clean up. Pros: Salsa, Prices Cons: Entrance and waiting for a seat is in SMOKING section! more

H0 Hum, Tex Mex 1/4/2009

Not bad food, if you're into the Americanized tex-mex stuff. Real good salsa though. Hard to enjoy it, because of all the smoke. The place allows smoking, rather archaic for the modern era. Not only does it allow smoking, it encourages it. If you're a smoker, go eat there, you can't taste the food anyway. If you're not a smoker, go elsewehere, so you don't come out smelling like an ash tray. Pros: fair food at a fair price, not great though Cons: Can't breathe due to all the smoke more

Great food & drinks, friendly staff, fast service, clean atmosphere 3/21/2008

My husband & I love to eat here. We try and go as often as possible. I always order the same thing, #5 Cinco De Mayo, no chicken, all rice no beans. Lately we have also been ordering the Rancho Grande Dip-it is awesome as well as the salsa and chips. I never eat all of it because it is alot of food especially for the price, but I always take it home and eat it the next day for lunch and it still tastes great. Many times we have been there, the restaurant is crowed but the food is always served in a timely manner. The drink specials are a plus, especially on Wednesday's-happy hour prices on Margarita's all day-how can you beat that? The staff is always friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this establishment to all of my friends & family. Thank you and I look forward to returning very soon. Keep up the good work. Pros: great food, fast service, friendly staff, affordable, clean atmosphere, daily specials more

Meh. 2/2/2007

The food here was definitely below average, especially for the price. It's not super expensive, but I thought the price wasn't in line with the quality. I don't have anything against cheap Mexican food, but it should actually be, you know, cheap. I had two supposedly carne asada soft tacos, though the tough, rubbery pellets of meat were unlike any carne asada I've ever had before. The beans and rice weren't terrible but didn't really do much for me either. The salsa was pretty good however, and we were able to get a table quickly despite how busy it was. Pros: Good salsa, quick seating Cons: Mediocre food for the price more

It's a Love/Hate relationship 7/13/2006

This place has really good food. It is all totally Americanized Mexican food (a la ""Taco Bell""), but it is still very good. If you grew up with home-made tamales, or if you don't like cheese, then avoid those dishes. Pros: Price, Salsa, Nice place to sit down with some friends Cons: Very busy more

Find someplace else! 6/4/2006

The food here was mediocre at best (very american). ?Cheddar? Cheese literally blanketed everything, the tamales were dry as a bone and three of our seven items were served wrong! Add that to the dissapearing waitress and the inept directions when we called and asked and this was definitely a forgettable experience. One good note was the salsa, it was excellent! Pros: salsa, pepsi vs. coke Cons: food, food, service more

thank you 2/18/2006

i love this place, my father is one of the owners so i apprecite all the good feedback more

I freakin' love this place... 3/2/2004

Food is excellent and value-priced. Atmosphere is cozy but obviously not 5 star. I recommend the Specialty Burrito or the number 10 - Bowl with rice, chicken, peppers and onions, all grilled Fajita-style, served with tortillas. For the money, it can't be beat. Always busy and great service. Pros: FOOD, Service, Value more

Great Place to Eat 6/29/2003

Excellent food, big crowds, if you go on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday nights (but what restaurant isn't, right?). Highly recommend this place. Easy carry out, if you live close!!! Pros: great food, inexpensive, great drinks Cons: sometimes crowded more

Ola! 1/10/2003

Great food but always crowded - we always have to wait for a table. Frozen margaritas are good. Make sure you try one of the cheese dips! Weekday specials too. Cons: Crowded more
