Don't Shoot the Messenger 11/1/2010

Unfortunately, after 15 years and hundreds of clients, I had the misfortune have having to explain to some very difficult clients, Tony & Caroline B. (""athena493""), that they were earning $800/month less than their monthly expenses and they they couldn't afford to keep their house. Even worse, they wanted to sign a reaffirmation agreement during their bankruptcy case and remain personally liable for the house they could not afford. it's a shame that they blame their former attorney for their ongoing problems. I hope their situation improves. -- R.W. Berry more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! 9/24/2010

We chose Berry because of his reasonable price and he seemed very detail-oriented, but it is a decision we have paid for long after our bankruptcy case has closed. He has no people skills and is very direct. At one point, he was so rude that my husband had to call him on it & he later apologized. He did ONLY what his contract said and was not willing to help us modify our monthly mortgage (our mortgage company would only deal with our attorney). Berry advised us against re-affirming any debt, and now that we are having a hard time making our mortgage payment, we don't qualify for any re-modification without re-affirming the debt which would require re-opening our bankruptcy case. At one point, Berry gave us all of our documents (our entire file) back to us and told us to deal with the court trustee, a task we were paying him to do. For weeks before our hearing, we never heard from him and wasn't even sure if he was going to show up. He was extremely bad at informing us of our options and truly failed us as clients. I cannot suggest strongly enough to NOT GO TO THIS ATTORNEY!!! more
