Quick Pita is Georgetown’s hidden gem, except by gem I mean no-frills, really cheap, countertop eatery. Quietly tucked off of M on Potomac Street, Quick Pita is a much-needed antidote to luxury brand shopping and popped polo watching. Sure, Dean and Deluca is quality and fresh, but QP is an escape from the crowds. Sandwiches on fresh, warm, and chewy pita are a complete steal; baba ganouj on pita is just over $3. Though the other sandwiches are all quality, I almost invariably go with the Quick Pita Special, flavorful marinated cubes of chicken doused and a wicked garlic paste sauce, topped with French fries – inside the pita. A modern take on a traditional ‘wich. The baba ganouj, hummus, and falafel are all great, but it is the bursting pita delicacies that run the show here.
