I travel often and stay in a variety of hotels, depending on the season, length of stay, and reason for travel. This trip I was looking for something convenient to the city yet in a safe neighborhood, relatively inexpensive and clean, and I hit the jackpot with this wonderful inn. I called the hotel directly from the Visitor Center on I-77. The manager/owner answered and it was immediately like talking with a trusted friend. He directed me straight to the hotel (and, with the coupon from the Visitor Center, I paid $49.95 for a non-smoking double room). The lobby is small but elegant and the staff was wonderful -- it was a lovely, warm welcome. The room was spotless and well-appointed, and the bathroom sparkling clean. It was not at all stuffy and smelled very clean without the fragrance that is often used by some hotels to cover up odors. The room included two beds, a small table and chairs, desk, bureau, TV and refrigerator, as well as the usual hair dryer, iron, etc. It was very comfortable and quiet. We had a delicious, hot breakfast with cooked-to-order eggs, sausage, grits and gravy. There was also cereal, fruit, bagels, bread and a variety of spreads, coffees, and teas. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with the staff and with other guests as we watched CNN and lingered over a last cup of coffee. I was also moved by the sentiments expressed by the management in the in-room brochure's greeting. You can bet I will return! Anytime I am traveling in or through Winston-Salem, this wonderful inn will indeed be my second home. I recommend it highly and without reservation. It gets five stars and an A++ rating. more

We stayed here the last weekend in September and found it to be comfortable, clean, roomy and in an excellent location for the Wake Forest game and for the restaurants we went to with other family members. And the price was more than reasonable for the nice room we had. There was some confusion with our reservation at check-in, and Ruben, the front desk clerk at the time, was very helpful and always friendly as we'd be in and out over the weekend. All of the staff that we encountered were very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast was average - I always like to see fruit served but that wasn't on the menu - but it's still a nice perk to grab a bite before getting on the road. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. more

This was just a rest over stop on our way to Myrtle Beach,SC, but it was a very relaxing place to stay. I booked earlier in the day and was reserved a room for that night. Arrived around 9:00pm, went across the street to Wendy's and had supper in the room. Staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was very good. Had a late checkout time too if you wanted to sleep a liitle late. The only thing negative was, like a lot of other hotels, it had a lot of slamming doors. That necessarily isn't the fault of the hotel, but is the fault of the rude quests who let a door slam at midnight or 6:00am. People don't think of other people most of the time anyway. Bottom line....great value for a nice room with pleasant hotel staff.I would stay there again anytime. more

We stayed for the Elton John concert and the Martinsville race, and it was close to the concert venue. The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond our expectations when I needed to get my tickets printed. They gave good directions and had new about the area. The room was nice clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone. more

During the four years my son was at Wake Forest University, I stayed at many hotels in the Winston-Salem area and this is by far my favorite. You can't beat the value - ask for the Wake Forest parents rate. The rooms are typical hotel/motel style, but always clean and the service is great. The location is very close to the college...even closer is the football stadium. Free parking and I never had trouble finding room availability. I'm sorry it took me until his sophomore year to discover the value and location of this Quality Inn. I could have saved a lot more money and convenience that first year! more

We had very comfortable, clean rooms, with refrigerator & microwave. Great breakfast, too, with big variety of cereals for the kids! The largest plus is the owner and the staff of this property; absolutely the most attentive and the best service - ever. Hotel is in excellent location, and we will definitely stay here again. more

After reading the reviews, I was concerned about staying at the Quality Inn Coliseum in Winston Salem. Fortunately, the reviews gave a false picture of this hotel. The rooms are clean; the staff is not rude; and the neighborhood is not dangerous. On the contrary, the rooms are clean; the staff is friendly; and the neighborhood is fine, conveniently located next to an interstate, across the street from a Wendy's, and down the street from a Taco Bell. More importantly, unlike the overpriced, undersized hotel rooms in New York City, the rooms at this hotel are very reasonably priced and very reasonably sized. The building is not old or worn out as some other reviewers asserted. You can stay here without trepidation. more

Stayed here during the High Point furniture Market. It is an outstanding value considering hotels of similar caliber are twice the price. The rooms and linens were clean. They offer a reasonable hot breakfast and there is free wireless internet in addition to a business center.\r \r It is not the Four Seasons, however for the money it is an outstanding value. I would stay here again without question! more

We recently stayed here with our extended family for a wedding near by and just to visit the area since my nephew goes to Wake Forest Univ. The hotel + hotel rooms were clean and the staff was really friendly. The kids loved the pool and it was nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel. more
