Pump Energy Food is the place to go when you want to eat healthy, but aren't ready for a meal of dry lettuce and unsweetened iced tea.
All the food at Pump is prepared fresh with no added salt, refined sugar, excess oils or fats or mayonnaise. The meat is lean, nothing is fried and many vegetarian options and extra low fat options are available.
It's not the most flavorful meal you'll find, but the turkey burger with low sodium tomato sauce and low fat mozzarella cheese will keep you satisfied and away from the local pizzeria. The baked - not fried - falafel is also impressive. Most meals come with a choice of healthy dressings on the side to kick it up a bit, and the options are varied enough to keep you interested for a while.
And it's low guilt, with meals for eating light, high protein, low sodium and both gaining and losing weight. The menu is impressively extensive, boasting sandwiches, salads, platters, omelets, smoothies and even low fat, high fiber and protein desserts.
Limited seating is available (surrounded by autographed photos of the celebrities that frequent Pump), and the lines tend to get long around lunch time. Prep time for the food is sometimes a little long depending on the order, but nothing extraordinary.
Not bad for stuff that's good for you :)
