We were just stopping by Chattanooga for a good dinner. We went to Terminal Brewing House first since we wanted to try another local brewery/restaurant. However, the waiting time was 30 mins. So we drove to 212 Market Restaurant but we were unable to find any parking spot amidst a busy Saturday evening. We've never seen Chattanooga's main st. busy ever. So we had no choice but go to our last and 3rd choice - Public House Restaurant - knowing its reviews and price. We were so glad to finally get some peace and quiet, in a restaurant that's a class on its own. The mahi-mahi sandwich, pork loin steak, and kid's chicken fingers were good. We liked the accessories i.e. water bottle, small wine decanter, etc. and presentation. Our waiter, Matt, was great and took time to chat with us. Kudos to Matt!
The only thing I think that needs improvement is that the hostess should be more refined, pleasant, smiling and accomodating. The server who brought out our food should have said nice, welcoming words instead of not saying anything at all. For a restaurant with a classy standing should have a staff with professionalism.
Pros: great ambience, nice location
Cons: service needs improvement
