wow! What a disappointment 10/15/2009

My roommate and I have rented from this company fr less than 2 months. Not only can we not get them to fix things wrong with the plumbingand electrical, and cut the grass, as agreed, we get snooty unprofessional people who don't take phone messages and seemingly don't care about looking totally unprofessional. One time the actually sent out some flunky electricians who didn't know where the breaker box was then their supervisor called and harassed me to have sex with him (Max Buchanan), then the central heating unit stops working and we call at 10 am and at 1:30still no call back and still no maintenance person has showed up. Please do not rent from these people it will be a BIG headache. Pros: low rent Cons: stupid mangers, slow maintenance people more

We used this company for over a year and had quite a few problems.\r \r The list is long, so I will not cover everything in this review.\r \r So, our single family home was rented for almost a year when I just happened to pick up the phone to call and see if anyone had changed out the air filter (the property manager, Lisa, admits to not being computer savy, so no email). Well, I just happened to call them just after a plumbing issue had come up at the home.\r The city had reported sewage from the home pouring into the street and gave the property manager 36 hours to fix it.\r They sent out their ""handyman"" to fix it. He snaked the drain and then supposedly tightened up some plumbing under the sink after the tenant reported it dripping. The bill came to 575 dollars! (which, by the way, happens to be the exact amount we were getting for rent).\r Now, as an ex - general contractor in NC, I knew this was absurd.\r I asked Lisa why I hadnt been called so that I could choose a plumber, rather than their handyman to do the work. She told me they had lost my phone numbers! \r At this point, I was pretty upset.\r So, the cause of the plumbing problem was a diaper flushed down the toilet.\r \r Two weeks later, another plumbing issue comes up. This time I get a call and am able to send out a plumber. It cost me 150 dollars and he found paper towels had been flushed down the toilet...lots of them.\r \r So, that behind us, we fast forward about a month.\r \r At the new year, 2009, section 8 made a change where they required the tenant to pay 130 dollars of the rent.\r Well, my check arrives from the property manager and it is missing the 130 dollars.\r \r So, I called them to find that this change with section 8 had occurred, nearly two months ago. Property management corp. could not be bothered to pick up the phone to call me about this. Nor, could they pick up the phone to notify me that the tenant missed that months payment.\r Now, when I get my checks each month, it is pretty much the middle of the month, around the 15th. So, usually, a property manager will be considering eviction at that point. However, ours was just sitting idle and doing nothing.\r So long as they were getting their 12% per month, they didnt care.\r \r So, another month goes by, and I decide to call just to make sure all is okay.\r Lisa tells me the tenant has moved out! She said she thought that Lamar had called me.\r So, then I find that Property Management Corp. had gone out with the section 8 inspector to find the home vacant. They went in and did an inspection and found the property to be in good shape.\r At this point, we are tired of renting our home with all of this from four states away, especially since we do not trust the management company anymore.\r So, I hire a realtor to put it on MLS. She goes to get the key and then goes to check out the house. \r Our realtor finds the following : Two large holes in the drywall, filthy carpet that smells of urine, a large hole in the tile surround of the shower (drywall behind is missing too), a cracked tile on the floor of bathroom, a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom, among other things.\r None of this damage was reported to us by Property Management Corp. They told us over the phone that it was clean with no damage. They lied to us knowing we were four states away and wouldnt be able to see it for ourselves\r So now, we have to pay a contractor a few thousand to go out and fix holes, tile, etc. before we can even consider listing the house.\r \r To end this long story, I would give the advice to avoid this management company altogether. They showed poor organization skills, poor follow up, and overall were just not very trustworthy. Our property, after only one year, was in much worse condition than it had been before we entrusted it to Property Management Corp and we will never do business with them again.\r Pros: Nice people Cons: Dishonest and unorganized more
