First, I am a professional person over the age of 40 that has travelled over the United States and used many dentists and dental services from many offices. So I am writing my review from a comparision basis and based on my and my spouse's first had experience at Ripa's office. Upon first entering the office you will notice a lobby full of people. The front desk is unwelcoming and poorly informed. Zero people skills. The dental assistants have very little knowledge, training or people skills. They rudely try to perform procedures without any courtesy of expressing what they are doing or why, etc. They just shove things into your mouth without speaking. You are treated as an object not as a patient. The dental equipment is dated. The ""dental assistant"" nearly choked shoving loose plastic in my mouth during the x-rays. Shockingly, the assistant is not even aware or concerned. Everyone, included the doctor just says hello. The doctor didn't even closely examine my teeth. He simply glanced at them. Again, I am comparing my expectation from 20+ other dental offices used throughout the United States. In reading my about the office, I would disagree with the person who indicated the staff is paid well. My sense was the whole operation is about money and not about sincere patient care. Trust me, you can see, feel and tell the difference. The focus is to schedule as many patients are possible, expect them to sit and wait for hour or more in the lobby and then bill you for poor quality services they provide. My sense is the staff is inexperienced and probably underpaid in order to save the doctors money on labor costs. As make this statement as being a owner of multiple businesses and having held senior executive positions in a number of companies. Unless you want to be the fool, I would avoid the office and find another dentist.
