I bought my Toyota Prius in 2009 at another dealerhip but it was too far for service. I tried Power Toyota of Irvine. I have been going there since then, every six months. Eve...

I just moved here. My car need a routine servicing 2 wks ago. Now, several indicator lights went on, first time ever, and it's in again. Upsetting, not suspicious. Now, I've g...

Service Dept. sucks! 7/11/2011

I made an appointment for service at 1:45pm. I pulled up to the service dept and no one came to my aid for 15 minutes. Then a tech tells me that for an oil change, it will take the whole day. I had to keep my car there til the end of day, til 6pm! Why didn't they tell me this in the first place prior to making an appointment?! If they are so busy, they should hire more technicians. I will never take my car in there again. more

Service Department 8/21/2007

I purchased my vehicle at Power in Irvine and since 2004 had the oil changes done there and did not have any complaints. They were always nice and very attentive so when I went in this year I was shocked at the lack of attention to the customer. I sat there and was not acknowledged until I asked one of the guys that takes the cars to the service area if there was someone that could help me and I told them I had an appointment and then this jerk named Frank Lambey comes out and barely acknowledges my presence and starts going on about how much service I need on my car before he even goes and checks my records. I have to tell you Frank has got to be one of the rudest jerks that works in the service department at this dealership and let's just say because of him and other problems at that dealership I am now paying more and taking my car back to my personal mechanic. He may cost a little more, but let me tell you Customer Service is huge with me and my mechanic bends over backwards to help you and has a great attitude with his customers and that is why I keep going back and you would think it would be with Power in Irvine. I am planning on writing a letter about this dealership because they should not be allowed to be in business if they treat customers the way they do. Take my warning and don't ever go there. Excellent Personal Experience 2/2/2007

I have to admit that going to any car dealership is like pulling a number out of a bag. You get a good sales or service person and one immediately says "Great Dealer". We have a bad experience once and we tend to rate the whole dealership "Lousy". I personally don't think that's fair. I purchased a 4Runner from this dealer a couple of years ago, I had a good experience walking in and the Sales person was also "new". But he gave me time to walk around, look at the cars, test drive a couple and when it came time to buy, he brought in his senior to negotiate. They were not the cheapest, but I had done my homework and new exactly what I wanted and how much it will cost. To make a long story short, 5 hours later, I drove out with the car I wanted, almost at the price I wanted. I have been going there since for service and I call them once in a while for various minor issues. They have always been courteous and helpful and have responded well to a couple of complaints. Be your own judge, go to a dealership and make up your own mind. They are not a product that can be rated on a one time visit. Sorry if I sound like I am writing a sermon, but I felt someone should write a fair & balanced assessment. more

Poor Customer Service 10/5/2006

I filled out an online request for a quote on a 2007 Camry. Their response, from a Ken Banfill, was to send me an email that they would be calling me to answer any questions I had. I responded that I didn't really have any questions and just wanted a quote on the specific model and options I requested. Ken responded that they didn't have any and they weren't getting any. I see from other reviews that their poor attitude is not unusual. more

Horrible experience 12/5/2005

When we were in the market for a new vehicle, We dropped by Power Toyota in Irvine to test drive, and possibly be sold on a Toyota vehicle. I found the lack of service to be quite incredible. We were not greeted when we walked in through the doors and had to request a dealer to show us some vehicles. The salesperson told us it was her first week on the job, which was fine and made us a little bit more understandable than we would have. But she had poor communication sales and when I tried to look at both the RAV4 and the Highlander, she TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF BUYING THE HIGHLANDER. This was very surprising, as most dealers I know would have jumped at the chance to sell you a more expensive vehicle. When asked various questions about the RAV4, she did not know the answer to them. She provided very little value as a dealer and expected us to buy when she didn't even try to sell the car. Of course, we did not buy a vehicle from them. Then there was the other time we had gone looking for a car, a Solara. Again, we basically had to ask and wait for a dealer to come help us. The lady, who also had poor communication skills, gave us a brief test drive, couldn't really answer questions until she read the sticker on the car, and was in a rush to get back inside. We didn't buy a vehicle from them, but at least got some free baseball tickets (that we couldn't use) out of them that time. I would have given them less than a star or a negative star if that were possible. more

horrible attitude 11/11/2005

The sales person who helped us was very nice. It was his first week on the job so there were some questions he didn't know how to answer. But we understood, and he was nice. We had done a lot of research on the car we wanted, so we were pretty much ready to buy. So we sat down with him and the finance guy to negotiate. Everything went well... but the finance guy kept on pushing us towards a lease. We didn't want to lease the car and we explained this to him but he didn't listen. 1st mistake! We couldn't agree on this, and we couldn't agree on a price. Then he walked away and brought back an Asian guy (2nd mistake). They proabbly thought to handle Asian customers, they need an Asian sales person. Well, that's what cost them a sale. This guy was rude and obnoxious. He kept on refering us as his "Asian bro and sister." He was so unproffessional and condecending. In fact, he made us feel like we weren't good enough to buy the car and that he was helping us because we were "family." Like his behaviour wasn't bad enough, even threw in some racist comments. At the end, we decided it was not worth our time and energy. We walked out. We both have been in sales before, so we understand how hard sales position is. But we also know how not to make customers feel unwelcome and unimportant. And for a company that advertises their low price and their customer service, they should really train their employees. more
