Cool To See Shows In 4/6/2006

The Pour House is a club thats a bar, thats a club, thats a bar. really it depends on what day of the week it is. Sometimes there is a cover, sometimes there is a band. most of the time there is a band. 50% of the time there is a cover. I have really enjoyed going here, even though ym review is slightly confusing. This is a good place to see good small semi-no name bands for not a lot of money. more

Mugs and Music 2/22/2006

The Pour house is a great place to go to catch a great show by an artist you may have never heard of before. on wednesday nights they have mug night where you can get a 32oz mug filled with a beer of your choice for $3. Every band Ive seen here has been great, and Ive known nothing about them before showing up. there is usually no cover, or a small one unless the band is good inwhich case covers can go up to $15. A great venue and bar! more

Great Bar Scene w/ Music 8/19/2005

This is easily my favorite bar in Raleigh. Located in Moore Square this bar has great atmosphere is and on some nights you can even see a band for a cover charge. They also have a pool hall for those that play. Beer runs about $3.50 for most of their pints and $4.25 for more specialty ales. They have nightly specials- like mug night on Wednesdays. You buy a 34 oz mug for $4 (you only have to buy it once and bring it back each week) and pay $3 to fill it . This is a great place to hang out with friends or meet new ones! more

Downtown music 7/28/2005

The Pour House doesn't pull in very many acts that I want to see, but when I do go, it's always a good time. They have both an upstairs and a downstairs viewing area, so there's plenty of room to dance, or just stand, listen, and sip. The drinks are not outrageously expensive, and I haven't usually had to wait forever to get one. The musical acts themselves tend to jammy/jazzy/funky in nature, with the occasional smattering of hip-hop thrown in. All in all, not a bad place at all to end up on a Friday night. more
