It gives back! 7/13/2009

I've been coming here for a while, and I just reaped the benefits of becoming a rewards card member. If you go to PandP often, be sure to sign up for the FREE rewards program - for every 250 points you earn, they give you a FREE twenty five dollar gift certificate. That's good for a meal and some drinks, just for coming back! Pros: Rewards Card more

Very Relaxing 7/6/2009

Something about this place just gets me to relax . It attracts a very professional crowd, but one can tell that Pound and Pence serves as a great place for them to ""kick off their shoes"" and unwind. On top of the unique space ( I felt like I was in an English pub), the food is delicious! Pros: Big Chairs, great decor more

Favorite Pub 7/6/2009

It's nice to know of a good bar in this area. Great food, and they even have fries in the shape of chips! The waitstaff was pretty attentive and this place has got a nice vibe. Can't wait for my next visit. Pros: great deals (2 for 1 drinks), large selection more

Fun Place to Start the Weekend 7/1/2009

P and P has a lively bar scene and a great atmosphere. It's a great lunch spot and I love getting drinks there after work with friends. Definately one of the best places to hang out in the neighborhood. more

Best Chicken Tikka Masala! 12/18/2008

Coming from the UK, you expect to be able to find a good Curry at English Pubs, most pubs in NYC do not have this. Pound and Pence has the PERFECT Curry. It's full of flavor and traditional Indian spices. The all white chicken is an added bonus. more

Great for After Work 10/28/2008

My colleagues and I have been coming here for awhile now and the bar keeps getting better! They have this amazing promo offering half price drinks when the dow drops. We always say we are only going to stay for one drink but we always end up staying the whole night. Love this place. more

Wednesday Night was Great! 10/10/2008

I came for Ladies Night on Wednesday and it was GREAT! 2 for 1 Drinks! This is my favorite Brit Pub in the area, there was even a party for the NY Brits there! Talk about authenticity. I love the true British pints here too, it's difficult to find that outside of the UK.\r \r I will definitely be a regular here! Pros: Imperial Pint, Beer Variety more

Selections! 9/18/2008

I love this place. There are so many different choices. I could eat here everyday and never get bored. There are soups, salads, curry, meat, fish, everything! The after work crowd is really great too, great bar atmosphere. more

Delicious Vegetarian Options 9/2/2008

Being a vegetarian, I sometimes find it hard to get creative menu options other than grilled vegetables. Here at Pound and Pence, I have tried the Black Bean Veggie Burger and the Spinach Salad. Both options were wonderful and full of flavor. I love the whole black beans in the burger, it is a hearty and delicious meal perfect for those breaks from work. The spinach salad was great especially with the goat cheese and garlic toast.\r Pros: Quick, Easy, Delicious more

Good food, good fun 10/13/2007

I go to NY financial district twice a year and always make a point to visit the P&P. I sit at the bar and have lunch or after work drinks. THe food is very good; I don't think it's expensive at all for NY. The bartenders are all great and the food and drinks come out fast. I like this place better than any other I have vistied in the area. more

Best pie around! 6/24/2007

An authentic English pub that caters mainly to the Wall St. clientele. The service was friendly and fast, and the food on both occasions I have been, has been delicious- especially the chicken pie! There are also some really good happy hour specials throughout the week. Definitely worth trying out! Pros: Comfy chairs, good food, fast friendly service Cons: Can get cold in the summer (A/C seems to be a bit high)- bring a sweater if you feel the cold! more

Cozy and Yummy! 4/19/2007

I honestly don't know what some of those other reviewers are talking about. I work in the area and frequent this place because the food is always really tasty and the service is consistently good: efficient and friendly but not annoying. Also, the ambience and vibe of this place is one-of-kind- cozy and kitschy, with two floors and a library-esque theme on the top floor with a fireplace. Try the burgers or the chicken curry, and the Shepard's Pie is great! It gets really busy but not uncomfortable. Pros: ambience, ots of beer on tap and bottle, food Cons: gets busy after work more

NOT WORTH VISITING 4/9/2007

The place looks nice but the service was average the food came out cold and we waited 50 minutes for it.They have some drink specials but in general the prices are high. This was the third time I was there and I WON'T BE COMING BACK...Three strikes and your out Cons: WAITED TO LONG FOR FOOD,EXPENSIVE more

Blind Putt Putt 10/11/2006

I had my first blind date last night (also 1st date ever) at a little oasis near Wall Street called the Pound & Pence. Spectacular layout and ambience... it didn't remind me of TGI Friday's one bit. I knew tell that pulling out all the stops would woo her. Thank you Pound&Pence. You're like the sweetcorn hidden in the middle of a bunch of fuel crop. One hiccup though...citysearch states there is a putting green on the premises. I centered the entire night's activities around minature golf and, alas, no putt-putt to be found. Needless to say, this sent me into a panic because I was banking on using the putts as a social crutch, concentrating on my stroke during possible lulls in conversation. I actually had to wing it the entire night and be myself. It paid off in the end...a group of strangers later recognized my first date skills and cheered me on. Kinda awkward...we were eating dinner at the time. more

The Perfect Atmosphere 10/2/2006

What can I say: Beautiful place, prompt service, great food & Hot Staff Members... This is the place to be if you work or live around the financial district. If you're planning your holiday party check this place out. Several options to choose from and great space. In top of everything, they deliver and can cater to your office party. Oh, by the way, check this place out Tuesday night where everyone gets to dress up as Bond Girls, HOT, HOT ,HOT.... Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: I don't see any more

Real English Pub Downtown 11/28/2005

Pound & Pence has a great atmosphere and is a good place to go for lunch break during the day. The ambiance changes during the dinner hours and becomes slightly more formal and romantic. However, still a great place to go for a few drinks with friends after work. Very cozy, nice fireplace, big comfy chairs. Pros: pool table, fireplace, great beer selection more

wall street on the DL 5/22/2005

Cool hang in lower Manhattan. A lot of wall street types which may or may not be your thing, but great British beers on tap and the best Chicken Tikka Masala I've had in New York. They also have big cozy leather massage chairs! Pros: people watching, good beers, cozy seats Cons: dark, hidden more
