MAA West Austin

Overpriced. Poor Construction. Terrible Management. Parking Sucks. Not really much else to say about an apartment complex is there? The place has no amenities save the dinky ""workout facility"" and a pool that is hidden in the shade for most of the day due to being in the middle of the 4-story structure. As if the architect/engineer didn't screw the pooch bad enough there, they also designed a parking garage that is both too narrow and has nearly zero capacity for guests. The manager here is an absolute lazy bag of skin that takes forever to get anything done and isn't proactive about a thing. And as others have said, the walls and sub-floors are paper thin so you can hear every move your neighbors make. Not what you would expect from a ""new"" complex. And don't forget you are right next to the train tracks... which have 5-10 trains a day rolling by. Overall, Post West is a really bad choice. more

Great location, very friendly and professional staff, well maintained, good amenities and a good place to live. I moved to Austin 1 year ago due to job re-location. I moved from a house with acreage and was very skeptical about living in an apartment. Thought this would be a very temporary living arrangment. I have been very pleasently surprised. The PWA team is very welcoming and accomodating. There are some annoyances with living in an apartment environment in the city, but for the most part it has been a very enjoyable experience living at Post West Austin. I have very nice and respectful neighbors and have met many pleasant people at PWA. I just renewed for year 2 and have no plans on looking elsewhere. This place was great when it first opened. Now there's no way I would want to renew. In a great location and excellent for young professionals. Nice pool, great gym. Customer service could be better and they won't sign for packages, meaning if you order stuff there's a high probability it will get stolen. Two police officers roam the hallways and everyone gets treated like a teenager. They sold out the limited parking for $35/month, which is crap because its hard to park on the floor you live on, despite the ""reserved"" spots going unused... and they do tow. Management telling the cops to give out $200 tickets for having dogs off leash in the complex is the reason why I will never live at a Post Property again.
