Pizza.... 2/25/2012

I visited this place last week together with my friends. This is an amazing place to hang out with friends and a place to have a good conversation. They have good taste of pizza, burgers and pasta. Overall they have good quality of food. Service is good. They have accommodating and friendly crew. more

Wonderful service, decent pizza 8/30/2011

The pizza and decor and most everything about this lpace is completely average, so I would've given them three stars, but the friendly manager, who will go out of his way to help you out, whether its learn your name or give free extras, easily bumped it up to four stars. Well done guy whose name I never bothered to learn even though you know mine - you're a better man than me :) more

Great food for price super fun staff! 2/16/2011

This is your everyday casual lunch spot. Nothing fancy but the staff and owner are really fun! They really help out the kids at the local schools with fund raisers and lunch specials. On several occasions I was short on funds and the owner was very cool about it! Great place for a reasonable lunch/meal at a suoer price in Manhattan. more

Food Quality, Sanitary Conditions and Management are a NIGHTMARE 11/9/2008

This place is by far one of the worst places my co-workers and I have experienced for lunch. The owner is the most arrogant person you will ever meet. He will act like he's doing you a favor by selling you his crappy pizza, when really you should be the one rewarded for putting up with his BS. All that alone was enough reason to never give them our business again, however, it gets worse. The facilities are NASTY. Dirty counters, flies all over the place, etc. On top of all that the pizza tasted like paper; absolutely no flavor to it. Across the board this place is a FAILURE. If you are ever hungry in Tribeca try eating dirt before you come here. At least it's more sanitary and wouldn't involve the painful interaction with this "restaurant's" owner. more

HORRIBLE Food, Even WORSE Owner 10/29/2008

This is one of the WORST food establishments I've been to in New York. The owner is the most unpleasant person you will ever meet. I have never experienced such a rude and arrogant atmosphere. The funny thing is there is nothing that this clown should to be arrogant about: his pizza is of the poorest quality that myself and my friends have ever experienced in this city. Cons: Service (i.e. rudeness of employees), food, cleanliness more

I really think Portobello has the best clam sauce linguine in all of NY. The staff is very courteous and owner Anthony is top shelf. I highly recommend this restaurant, it's small but the food is always fresh. more

High class pizza 11/30/2007

This restaurant has the best pizza around. They also serve Italian food, such as pasta. They workers are nice and you get your food really quickly since they are always busy. Great for a quick bite! more

Bad food, bad attitude, ugly place 9/9/2007

Easily some of the worst pizza I've EVER had. The crust is soggy and the sauce is runny. The owner is extremely arrogant and unpleasant. There's better pizza in Tribeca and if you can't find one, settle for Dominoes or Pizza Hut! Cons: Everything more

....bad pizza. 3/21/2007

On the first bite, our pizza tasted very sour. Bad experience and they wouldn't replace the pie..... Pros: Fast Delivery Cons: Spoiled Veggies more

Great value, Great food 9/19/2005

Great value for the money. Always made fresh to order, the owner (Anthony?) is very friendly and treats the customer #1. A great slice too. Pros: seating, fresh, reasonable more

Friendly service and very good pizza 8/3/2005

Portbobellos is a great pizza place and Italian restaurant. The pizza is always fresh, since the restaurant is very busy and they are constantly making pies. The owner and the workers are very friendly and like to joke around with the customers. Many of the customers are loyal regulars, many of who are from the nearby high school. Portobellos also has salads, pastas, and Italian deserts, such as Zeppolis. Everything is fresh and good. Highly recommended if you want good pizza or fresh pasta and salads. more
