I recently adopted a puppy at the humane society and was told that I had 2 weeks to bring him in to any vet listed on the sheet they gave me for a free check-up to make sure everything's ok. I live within walking distance of Pomeroy's and they were listed on the sheet so I figured I'd take him in to make an appointment. I walked in and there was nobody at the front desk so I waited. First of all, the place looks like a crazy mental institution that has not been touched since the 50's. There was a dog barking in the back so my dog started to bark and the lady poked her head out of the back and asked if she could help me. I told her my story and said that I'd like to set up an appt. She then repeated with an attitude ""Sooo... you'd like to set up an appt??"" I said yes. then she proceeded to hastily sit down and grab the appt book and said, again with an attitude ""You know, we are CLOSED right now, but I SUPPOSE I can help you!!"" I told her that I was sorry, I didn't realize and that the door was open. I told her that maybe they should lock it so people won't walk in. Then she flipped through and told me that she had an appt on the 16th. I nicely asked if they had something sooner because I needed an appt before Saturday to qualify for the visit. I said that I was sorry, I know I should not have waited til yesterday to try to make the appt and I smiled and laughed. I was trying to be nice. She just flipped hard through the book and said ""Well, you may want to go get your FREEBIE ELSEWHERE THEN!!! All we have is the 16th!"" I told her thanks, I will do that and will go somewhere that they are kind and don't have attitude problems. My friend called as I was leaving and I told her what happened and she told me that her friend took her dog there once to get his ears cropped and he died on the table!! I guess I'm glad they were not able to accomodate me and I'm sure my new puppy Charlie thanks me as well.
