Polancos' Towing Svc

i went to go to work at 5am on april 28 and my car was gone. i called police and they ran plate. they said it was towed by these losers from a street south of market. my car was parked on farrell st. they would not let me see the car for damage they said i had to pay 500 to get it back. i told them it was in front of the house. they said it was probably stolen and left there on private property. they could not give me a signed slip from the property owners who wanted it towed (this they have to do by law). ipaid the money because i needed the car and there was no evidence of theft from someone else. they needed my keys in order to open the doors so that told me they were lieing from the door. I have found someone who lives by me who saw this tow company taking the car from in front of my house not someplace else. they stole my car, lied to police in order to defraud me out of money and they won. if anybody else had this done lets get together and take them to court Pros: nothing good about them Cons: they steal your property for money more

They illegally tried to tow my car. I ran out while they had my car hitched up. The guy demanded $385 to unhitch it right there. Seriously. $385. HE had moved it about a foot from where it was parked. I needed the car so I paid it, he unhitched it, and I left. It turns out, after doing my homework, they had 1)illegally towed me, and 2)charged fees so high they are actually against the law. I called all weekend and finally spoke to Junior, who works in the office, who basically told me, 'i know that it was illegal for us to tow you, but what are you going to do, take us to court? Do you know how much it costs to go to small claims court?"" Cons: they are predators. more

Find another company. It's not fun having your vehicle fail and be stranded.What makes it worse is when a tow truck company like Polanco's takes advantage of the situation. It happened at my most vulnerable and desperate time which they thrive on. I was taking the kids to school when the car failed in a busy street in rush hour. I was fortunate enough to get the car to the side. They hooked up to the car without giving me a proper estimate. They towed it to the repair shop which was 5 miles away I repeat 5 miles away. The repair shop then states that Polanco's is billing them for $325 and would not release the vehicle until it was paid. I reluctantly paid the $325. My fault for not getting a written estimate. If you can picture being stranded with kids and a dog in the car. Priorities was just to get the car to shop and kids to school. Which we ended up walking the rest of the way. Later that day I called other tow companies to find out that a typical 5 mile tow would range anywhere from $60 to $150. Find another towing company. These guys are crooks. I was willing to pay $200 for the tow which I thought was more than fair for a 5 mile tow I repeat 5 miles. But these guys will kick you while your down. Find another company!!! My advise to Polanco's is that blackmail and extortion against your customers is bad for business. A happy customer will tell a friend. An unhappy customer customer will tell ALL . There are plenty of honest tow truck businesses out there, I ended up with the worst. I would hate for anyone to experience what I experienced. Please do yourself a favor and find another company!! more
