Platinum Tattoos & Piercings

I spent years thinking and debating what kind of tattoo I wanted and came up with a tattoo in my head and I was stuck on this idea of this tattoo. I wanted this tattoo very much and there is no way or no one that could change my mind because I made up my mind and thought about it for years. I am a person that overthinks everything. I went to different tattoo shops all throughout San Antonio. I found almost everyone was rude and acted like I had no knowledge of tattoo or what I wanted; many others tried to talk me out of it, or gave me ideas to change it. I never got a quote because they never took the time to understand what I wanted. I went to Platinum tattoos in April of 2014, first off the shop is very clean and the lady at the front desk was very nice and talked to me about each Artist, lucky for me an Artist was filling in for someone at the Dezavala location and his name was “Picasso”. This artist sure lived up to the name and was very nice and talked to me about the tattoo and quoted me right on the spot. This artist drew an outline of my tattoo without having anything to reference to, just the idea of the tattoo I wanted. The tattoo took about 4 hours, he talked to me throughout the process, and making sure I was doing ok. When he was done my mind was blown, I could not believe that he tattooed this amazing piece of art work on my body. For years I could only imagine this tattoo on me, and the tattoo was better than I could have ever imagined, I could not thank him enough. If you’re looking for a shop and you have high expectations then go to Platinum Tattoo, you will not regret it!!! more

I've have my nose piercing re-done three times by three different shops, so I KNOW what a shitty piercing shop is, but Platinum is the best shop I have been to. I got my navel pierced, and the staff was funny, friendly, and actually caring. They didn't just want my money like other shops. I plan to only go here from now on, and I definitely will be returning during the summer for some tats. more

The piercer from the platinum at evers is not even there anymore, but his work and profile are still on the website. If your looking for Chris to do your piercing he is now at Xtreme Studios inside Ingram Mall. more

The three tattoos I have from Justin are done in his own image. I love the way he talked me through each one. My tattoos are always getting 2nd looks. They are beautiful, colorful and make me feel good. I would never go to anyone else. Justin is a vet at this and is awesome!!!!!!!! Thank You Justin more

My husband and I have had a total of 3 tattoos done at platinum. Our virgin inks were done by Dayton. He is just awesome. He is very patient and really listens to what you want. Third tat was done by another guy in the shop, will not be going back to him. Highly recommend Dayton more

First off I have to say that Justin is my tattoo artist and that I would not have anyone else touch my skin with eternal ink. I have been going to platinum for about 7 years now and I am still satisfied everytime with the work done. For the people who say the shop is pricey............its a tattoo.........forever........yeah, forever.........so you cant really say its too pricey. The place is clean and professional. GO THERE!!!! I have gotten 2 tattoos at Platinum. I will admit that the receptionists are pretty rude, but fortunately you don't have to mess with them too much. The two artists I have used, Lupe and Collin were both awesome. They were very friendly, easy to talk to durring the experience and both tattoos came out PERFECT. My first tatto was designed by Lupe, and he did a great job interpreting what I wanted. Collin helped me out with the 2nd which was my husbands name. They have a new script book that hase tons of options and I saw several fonts I liked. Once I chose the font Collin drew out the name, and although he offered his opinions and suggestions, he collaborated with me to get exactly what I wanted. My friend was peirced by one of the piercers and he was great. Great sense of humor, very friendly and very professional. more

I had a tattoo that I wanted covered or altered. I went to another shop first hoping they would help me come up with some designs. Instead they pushed me off onto the apprentice who told me that I was very limited in what I could do based on my original tattoo. She did not draw up any ideas or show me any suggestions. I left there basically being told to go home and use some markers and see what I could come up with. If I could do that I would have done it to begin with. I needed help. I'm not an artist. So very discouraged, I decided to stop by Sterling just to see if they might be able to help. Although I really thought they would tell me the same. Instead, Mario told me that he could cover it up without any problem. I was not limited in my tattoo choice hardly at all. He showed me some books with the style I liked and we made some alterations to the designs and 1 hour later, I had a new tattoo. You cannot see ANY of the original tattoo and the detailing is amazing. Mario was very nice and very patient with me. I don't know if they are expensive compared to other shops or not, but the quality of my tattoo and the service I got is worth it. I feel it was a fair price for the time and experience of the artist. I would recommend Mario and Sterling to anyone who wanted a new or cover-up tattoo. Pros: Talented Artist more

i went here for my first piercing which was my ear cartilage piercing. When i walked in everything looked so clean. I told them what i wanted and i only waited for 2-3 mins until they got to me. They were really nice and caring. It was fast and they used needles never a neddle gun. Everything was packed in a brand new package, they didn't use anything that was already used. Everything was really clean in there. The piercer guy was really kind to me and made sure my first piercing turned out good. He made me feel very comfortable and not so nervous like i was when i walked in. But everything turned out great, nothing went wrong just perfect. this place is an A+++++. they answerd to all my questions i had. Pros: CLEAN, fast, they only use needles,nice,caring Cons: the prices are a tad high than expected more

This place is definitely clean and the people friendly, but I would not recommend a FIRST time tattooer to go there. I went in with a clear idea of getting my husband's name and a pair of wings. Their font book was a joke, only about 15-20 styles and NONE of them were script/cursive. They did go on the computer and print out ONE cursive style. Fortunately, I liked it. They didn't seem too willing to give me more choices. I picked out the wings I liked and said I wanted them smaller. I had asked for the font to be smaller too. The guy (Gilbert) gave me a lot of grief about it being too hard to tattoo on something that small and it deterioriating over time. I wasn't given any options - like ""Here, let me draw you smaller ones that are less busy"" or ""If you don't like the size of the wings, maybe you should find others and come back."" I recently went to Platinum Piercing after being referred to it from a friend. After hearing that it was AMAZING I decided to call for more information. The receptionist was very rude, even when I went in for my actual piercing she was still rude. The piercer was amazing. He of course, used brand new needles, and he made me feel very comfortable. It's very clean, there's a HUUUGE TV. I wanted to stay there longer. I didn't even have to wait, I was straight in straight out. :] Highly highly recommended. Pros: Prices. Parking. & Hours. Cons: Receptionist woman makes me never want to go back there again. more

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Platinum yesterday after reading the reviews on this site, and I have to say it was a VERY good choice. This place is probably the cleanest tattoo shop I've ever been in. Dayton was our artist, and he did and AWESOME job! I took in a custom tribal dragon to have done in UV ink and my girlfriend had a couple of pieces covered and moved. Her moved pieces look WAY better than they did before and the coverup pieces looked awesome! I am extremely happy with my dragon, too! I would recommend Platinum to anybody looking to get some new ink! Keep up the great work Dayton! Fast, curteous, careful, and above all clean. Justin answered the phone when I called and was ready to work when I arrived with my custom request. He gave me an honest quote and stuck to it even though I think its fair to say my request ended up taking him longer than he anticipated. He jumped right in once the stencil was done and I had no time to second guess. That's probably best--his work is top notch and I think its fair to say my design required maximum precision. He was sweating and really just working hard on it; he gave it his all. The man even let me bum cigerettes off him for the few breaks that we took. The pain was minimal considering the timeframe of the project. I was really impressed. He was frank and curt but imminently competant. Thanks again Justin. I'll be back. I went in with a custom drawing. I came out with a work of art that will be with me forever. Extremely sanitary and bright, the shop itself is very welcoming. The staff - awesome. I knew justin before Platinum even opened, he told me his dream for platinum and i must say that it has come true in every aspect, the place looks like a doctors office it is so clean and the staff is always friendly and current on all new discoveries in this field, not to mention the prices are reasonable to. In the beginning i was afraid to do anything but get a small tattoo but in the end they always made me feal comfortable and i ended up with 9 piercings and a huge tattoo custom drawn for me on my lower back. If your near by, stop in and i promise you you will never want to go anywhere else for a piercing or ink work. more

I went into Platinum to get a tattoo to cover a 4 inch scar on my back from a surgery. Mando was the first person I talked to, and had a very easy going personality. Ignore him when he says that he has only been working for three days! I had my designed picked out (a rose), and Mando drew it on three or four times to get the size and design perfect.
