Beyond AWFUL! One of the WORST haircuts I ever received.
After their written and in-person consultation and explaining that I wanted to keep the previous style, longish all over but most importantly in front, with a slight lift on top, this salon gave me a NIGHTMARE cut that even a month and a half later is not grown out enough to do anything with. I anticipate another 6 months to a year. Why? You know all that emphasizing on the front remaining long? Well now it's 7 inches shorter than the tail thingee left in the back that is the only part of my hair reminiscent of its previous length! The remainder rests way above my shoulders. I walked in with hair that was 8 - 10 inches below my shoulders. The overall short length could be somewhat tolerable despite it being completely against what I asked for, except for the fact that it's completely LOPSIDED. It's not just shorter on one side than the other. It's different lengths all around and doesn't match the opposite side! A complete layered mess that will take FOREVER to grow out. Oh, did I mention that the left side appears to have a huge chunk chopped out? Yeah, needless to say I can NEVER wear my hair down. Imagine that. Every single day you have to account for an added 20 - 30 minutes of fidgeting with bobby pins, hair ties, bands, ribbons, any accessory that will hide the horrifying mess. It's a BUN, BRAID, or PONYTAIL (even that looks wrong) day, every day.
And no matter what, THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOUR MONEY after sentencing you to this daily torture. Not that any amount of money can bring back the length you spent 2 years growing or the next 6 months to a year of UGLY HAIR DAY.
Just don't be fooled by the massages. You paid for the hair. You can get the massage at a professional masseuse.
Oh, and to cap it off, they deliver masked insults while working on you. At the beginning when I clarified that I don't want to end up with 80's hair band hair, I was told that's what I walked in with. REALLY?!! My long, un-layered beautiful curls? Not the fuzzball of layers you left on my head a la Led Zeppelin? Flat on top, layered all over and only long in the back. You're kidding.
Yeah, notice I mentioned 'lift on top' earlier? FLAT!
He kept trying to cast the illusion that I walked in with an outdated look and he was upgrading me to something modern. HA! He proceeded to give me the frumpiest, most lopsided, soccer mom layered-all-over fuzzy look that I'd ever seen. HUGE FAIL.
To recap, 1. My order is to keep the style >> Got something opposite. 2. I heavily emphasized to keep long in front >> Front is actually the shortest part of my hair by 7 inches, and 3. I pointed out how I'd like to keep the lift on top that previously existed >> Completely flat on top no matter what I do. There is no remedy for this. FAIL, FAIL, FAIL!
Kristy11's review gives an accurate picture. Wish I'd read that before going. Btw, Kristy11, your Yelp review with the photo is not there. Was it removed by chance?
I really can't believe all the positive reviews on here. As a result, I was misled by all the positive reviews on Yelp. These sites need to screen the reviewers for affiliation because there is no way in the world they deserve these fabulous reviews.
Only recommend this salon to an enemy you would like to sabotage! And then watch out for really bad karma!
