Planet Dog

Since lots of people on JB seem to like pets, I'm happy to share this review. Planet Dog makes products that dogs and their owners just love. They carry an exclusive line of products made just for Planet Dog in addition to nutritional foods, toys, collars, leashes, beds, crates--even clothing for you and your best friend. The store in Maine actually allows owners to bring in their pets to browse. The signs say "snuggle, romp, woof, wag" or "beg, slobber, sniff, drool." They even have a Romper-rrr Room which runs a puppy playgroup on the weekend. How can you not love a place that loves dogs this much? My favorite Planet Dog product is the Orbee-Tuff Ball (made for extreme chewers), a tough, durable doggie ball that my dog finds irresistible. If you're lucky enough to live near the Planet Dog store, you can apply to be part of a human-canine field testing team that tests products. You lucky dog! more

This store sells everything for your pampered pooch--and I do mean everything. This is where I go to buy new and unique dog toys that neither I nor my dogs have ever seen before. I don't know if they field test their toys before they stock them, but every one I've bought here my dogs have gone wild over. Like most boutique dog stores, their prices are a bit higher, but in terms of quality stock it's worth it. They also have plenty of parking with their own lot, so this may be the Portland dog store to buy your 40 lb. bags of kibble at. more
