Pizza Al Forno terrible service! One hour late and no discount no apology, no nothing. They delivery person just said "It's my first delivery today so I am not late" Which I guess is true because the food was hot. So it seems to me that they just forgot the order and made the food when I called and asked were it was :( more

The food is just awful. I can't believe this place had a 5-star rating. I'm not entirely sure the chicken wings are in compliance with food safety standards and the pizza is significantly worse than a frozen pizza you can buy at Ralphs for $5. I should mention the delivery was prompt and the guy was very polite but now I have to drive out to get pepto so it sort of defeats the purpose of ordering in. more

I went back for a second try after I received a phone call from the owner. It seems that the evening I tried to order there wasn't a manager there and the delivery guy thought it would be easier to just not fulfill my order at the end of the night. The owner called and apologized and asked me to give his restaurant another try. I was very impressed by the level of importance he placed on the problem I'd had, so a friend and I stopped by later to have some dinner. I wanted to give the restaurant a fair chance but didn't want special treatment so I didn't identify myself when I went in. I had a calzone and my friend had fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and we both enjoyed the food, probably 3 1/2 to 4 out of 5. I have since also ordered a pizza which in my opinion was much better (very good New York style) easily a 4 1/2 . This is definitely more of a delivery place than a sit down restaurant and their pizza really shines. Unfortunately I can't find a way to remove or edit my past review, but I can and do wholeheartedly recommend this place for pizza delivery. more

Ordered from this restaurant, got a call 45 minutes later saying they couldn't deliver to me because I am 10 miles away. Google maps puts me 2.8 miles away. I placed my order about 30 minutes before close, and I am near the range of their delivery area so they just didn't want to do it. When I tried explaining it to the guy who called he insulted me, called me a derogatory name and hung up on me. more

The Worst Service in Los Angeles, and that's saying something. AVOID IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALERGIES 7/8/2008

I have to believe that the positive reviews for this place are placed by family and friends. Would anyone really ""drive from pheonix"" for a place that gives you your to go order in a 'Taco Bell' bag. Come on, that is the tackiest thing I have ever seen a restaurant do in my life.\r The food here should come with a warning: WARNING: DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALERGIES. I am currently sick from my alergy to mushrooms. I ordered the lasagna and garlic bread from there. No place on the menu does it say that it has mushrooms. I had to eat one and get sick from one to finnd out. Since they are right around the block from where I live, I brought the food back. \r That brings me to the service. Roxy, the girl behind the counter, has the worst attitude of any restaurant employee that I have encountered in my life. Everything is your fault, and she loves to say things in a snide way. They don't see a problem with not listing sensitive items. The employees also say that there is no manager that you can talk to, so I am talking here. IF YOU WANT A GOOD MEAL AND GOOD SERVICE, DO YOURSELF A SERVICE AND GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Close to my apartment Cons: Worst employees ever. Does not list items that cause alergies like Mushrooms. more

Not bad..but not good either 3/14/2008

We ordered 1/2 Works & 1/2 Hawaiian 16 inch pizza. It cost us $30.29. We called & said we were overcharged b/c a full The Works was 22.90 and a full Hawaiian was 16.66. So it should have cost us $19.78. But nope, the phone person said ""The computer was going to charge you $43.00."" Like she did us a favor by charging us ""only"" 30 bucks. As for the pizza, it's not great. Very bland. There wasn't a taste to it. But it wasn't bad. We won't be returning. Oh, and there's a $1 charge if you use a credit card. But the delivery was quick. Pros: Quick Delivery Cons: Overcharge for 1/2 & 1/2s, $1 surcharge on credit cards. Pizza more

Best Pizza in California 7/9/2006

The Pizzeria is located in the Jane's Place Historical Plaza where Memphis Restaurant is overlooking Hollywood Blvd. The pizza is amazing, the sauce is incredibly delicious, I have not had a better pizza to this day anywhere else. They also stand true to their slogan, the home of the big slice, you get the quarter of a 20"" pizza for just $3.99. Good menu, great prices, exceptional PIZZA!!!\r \r Art Pros: Great Food, You won't find better PIZZA anywhere! more
