Excellent food and service, even with 7 people 11/26/2008

I came here with a group for some pre-birthday party dinner. I had a hard time finding a place in this are that was the food and quality we wanted, while accommodating a party of 7 with reservations. Since it was my birthday party I didn't want to chance the wait time to be seated. I of coarse got there fashionably late but the service and food quality was incredible! I will definitely return for a more intimate 1 on 1 dinner but everything from the decor, to food to price to staff was great. Oh and someone on my party brought surprise cupcakes for me ahead of time and the wait staff was really accommodating, housing it in their fridge until it was ready to be brought out - mmmm. Enjoy! Pros: great for groups, wait staff, fresh food more

Great Service, good food, Nice ambiance 11/18/2008

Made reservations the day of dinner for 7 people. It turned out that our party grew into 9 but (luckily a slow night) the wait staff was completely obliging and didnt get annoyed by our annoying changes. Water was refilled every time it got low and the waiter allowed our dinner time to flow into two and half hours +\r Great food too!\r Highly recommended. more

The best Thai food 9/8/2008

I have been to Pinto several times in the past few months and I am always amazed at the quality of the food and the superb service. All the ingredients are fresh and the flavors wonderful. I just hope the narrow facade and street location do not cause it's demise. One would be hard pressed to find better Thai food anywhere in the city. Pros: food, service, cocktails, wine list more

excellent and ethical 8/13/2008

I've ordered delivery several times from here and now also eaten in person. It's the best Thai food I have had so far in the city. It is also fantastic because all the meat products are humanely raised, so you can eat great food and feel good about it too. Its a great place that deserves neighbourhood support. Eat here! Pros: Great food, organic more

An undiscovered gem with outstanding food and incredible service! 6/20/2008

We have eaten at (and ordered in from) Pinto close to 20 times now, and have never been disappointed. The shrimp dumplings with truffle-infused soy sauce are to die for. The crab fried rice is light and gorgeous and served in a whole coconut. All the beef dishes are cooked perfectly and their sauces are fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is a contemporary and comfortable space, and the service is always attentive and welcoming. I would imagine that once more people find out about this Thai jewel, there will be long waits for a table. Pros: Fabulous food, great ambiance and excellent service more

Extraordinary food, decor, and absolutely impeccable service! 12/31/2007

I keep going back for more and have at this point had nearly everything on the menu. All is carefully prepared for fabulous flavor and art directed for spectacular presentation. Waiters are all dressed alike in a uniform that is carefully crafted down to the identical Converse sneakers-- this level of attention is applied to every aspect of PINTO. Pros: Stunning in every way possible. Cons: None. more

Thai authentic dishes with modern setting 3/26/2007

I was surprised to find myself in a Thai restuarant in such a modern setting because most Thai restaurants I go to are usually ornated with oriental furnitures. Pinto totally changed my stereotype of the usual Thai restaurants. The food lived up to my expectation as well. I was recommended by my friend who lived in the neighborhood and have been there several times. The filet mignon i had was very well cooked, I ordered medium rare; everything was fresh and tasty as thai food supposed to be. My friend ordered the beef with that red curry. The curry was so aromatic. I especially love the potato fries, the sauce was outtadisworld!!!. I highly reccommend this restuarant to all those people who want to try something new and fun. PS: service was great, waiters were friendly. Pros: great food Cons: need a sign in front more

Good Thai Food 3/26/2007

I heard about this place from my friend who live in village so I and my girlfriend went there for dinner. The place is beautiful and cozy.I ordered the duck breast for my food. It's the best duck i ever have, perfect cook not over cook like other restaurant. My girlfriend had a Berkshire pork chop with king oyster mushroom come with some kind of spicy sauce supper tasty.Check this place out and you won't be dissapointed. Pros: tasty food, good value, nice ambience more

Best Thai Food in West Village 3/26/2007

I and my friends found this place by the chance. The place is very out standing from Christopher Street. Then we decided to try, and fortunately it's the best decision I ever made. This place is wonderful and totally different from another Thai restaurant that I had. I ordered Pad-Thai. Suprising it's full of flavor and shrimps are huge. My friend ordered curry and it's fantastic. The curry has a lot of aroma of spices and so fresh. I could tell right away that they make their own curry. I had a great time over there and will be back for sure. Pinto Rocks !!! Pros: Fresh Food, Full of Flavor, Friendly Staffs Cons: Not good for kids more

Exquisite, Authentic Thai 3/26/2007

My wife and I recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at Pinto - really a delightful and unexpectedly authentic experience. Having spent months in Thailand, and also having a Thai wife means a couple of things: I eat a lot of Thai food (both at home and in restaurants); and I have a pretty good palate for Thai cuisine. So does my wife. Pinto served the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand and my own kitchen - which is saying a lot, since there are some excellent places in NYC (mostly in the 50's & Queens). We could tell Pinto makes their own curry - which is impressive (and rare), and that the shrimp (especially) were as fresh as fresh. We both enjoyed the soup - separation of the broth and contents (the waiter poured the broth at our table) made the shrimp and vegetables ultra-fresh and distinctly flavorful. The entrees were wonderful - duck for my wife (cooked and presented tastefully), and curry for me (perfectly seasoned and spicy). Pinto - which I gather is Thai for ""Bento"" - put some very good flavors ""in the box"". I'm sure we'll be back often. Pros: Authentic Thai, Presentation, Balance, Fresh Ingredients, Authentically spicy more
