UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics - Heritage

I LOVE this doctor's office! Just called this morning to schedule an appointment for my daughter later today and they fit me right in without a problem! We love the doctors and nurses staff. It's a super clean place, and everyone (even the receptionists) is extremely pleasant and helpful. Our daughter was born prematurely, so we weren't given ample time to find 'the perfect doctor'. I had still been interviewing doctors and I wasn't happy with the 3 or 4 places I HAD seen. I picked this one blindly, and I'm glad I did. They're wonderful! more

I have also found the staff at Heritage Pediatrics extremely rude....from the receptionists to the nurses. I have a preemie and you would think they would have the knowledge base and empathy for our situation and they don't. One doctor there is worth my time, the others are in and out and do not seem to personalize themselves with their patients or parents. I am extremely dissapointed with their practice. Perhaps if they weren't the only pediatric office within 30 miles and had a little competition they would be a bit more friendly. And the last review where she wrote, they act as if you are bothering them to make an appointment, she is absolutely correct. They always act as if whatever they are doing behind their desk is more important then taking five minutes to help us. I am not from PA, and never in my life have I had to pay $10 for my pediatrician to fill out a simple physical form for school. How ridiculous is that?? Someone please start a new practice in the Mechanicsburg area!! more

It is true that this is a small practice and that you often see the same doctor, which is very nice. The doctors are good. However, I have found that over the last year the office staff has become increasingly impolite and indifferent about scheduling appointments. The office staff is the first responder to any type of call you place to the pediatrician, whether it be an acute illness or a routine visit. My daughter has not had a lot of sick calls, but when she has been sick I have found the receptionists to be rude and insensitive. They make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by requesting an appointment. I think when you work at a pediatrician's office and have to deal with parents who have sick kids, you should be a little compassionate and able to deal with people. more

We love this doctor's office!! It is a small practice, so we have seen the same doctor every time my son has been there, and they are great with scheduling appointments. Even when day care has called later in the afternoon to say he was sick, they have always seen him the same day, sometimes as soon as 15 minutes from my call! When he was sick on a Saturday, he was also seen right away!! If you like a doctor that knows yo and seeing the same doctor every visit, this is definitely the place to be! more
