Possibly one of the most unpleasant bars in Oregon. I didn?t have high expectations. The joint is on a shady corner in a shady double wide. The harassment from the toothless patrons, I can handle, no problem. The overwhelming cigarette smoke, I can handle. Rude bartenders?. completely unnecessary!! I ordered my drink from Chris and asked for a dollar in change. He gave me my drink (pleasantly strong btw) and my change? without quarters. His ?my ___ don?t stink? expression made it completely obvious that there was a change machine in the building and he was toooo gooooood to give change. The Juke Box offered a limited selection and since everyone in the joint was too broke to shell out fifty cents a song we spent the evening in silence. Always fun. Bartender Chris could be found near the pool table with a beer in his hand, occasionally getting up to help customers of his liking. Despite his clearly new co-worker getting slammed (by new I mean completely new to the industry, she was blatantly looking up drink recipes in her bartending book) he sat there and watched, commenting on how she needed to earn her stripes (or something like that). Finally (after four or so beers) he ventured back to the bar to help the girl out. I?d rather shove needles in my eye than go back to the Pink Elephant.
Pros: Not Crowded
Cons: Service, Smoke
