You get what you pay for: Terrible Customer Service 6/10/2010

I was finally pleased to find a pilates studio offering reformer pilates at a reasonable price. After my free introductory lession (which was fine) I signed up for a level 1 class. When the day of my class came I saw that I was the only person scheduled to attend and so I called up that morning and asked specifically what their policy was and if the class would be cancelled. The person on the phone said that it would proceed as scheduled and made no mention of their policy that I would have to pay double if no one else showed up. I trekked 10 blocks in the rain to attend this class only to be told I would have to pay another 30$ if I wanted to have a private session. Pros: Price Cons: Small space, rude staff, terrible customer service more

Best value for your money 1/3/2008

This studio is a great value for the money. The web scheduler is convenient and allows you to see how many people are signed up for a specific class, thereby bypassing the negative experience of a previous poster concerning the 2-person minimum for holding a class. There are many rules here, but the great instructors, clean environment, nice equipment, and unbeatable price outweighs those considerations Pros: Lowest price I've seen, long hours, many classes to choose from Cons: Rules and regulations more

Got to Business, a good thing for paying by the hour 2/14/2007

I went in with passbook for an introductory class then a level 1 trial class. It was my first experience with pilates and having coordiation found instruction easy. The facility is clean and ventilated. I was one of 4 people. The female instructor, an owner noticed small details for correction and was not ample to chit chat or allow it in class which is fine by me. For convience of location it was great. Pros: good east side location, clean and ventilated, business minded Cons: business minded, no shower or dressing room more

Beware: awful, degrading, humilating service 11/30/2006

I went for the first time with a "trial" coupon. I was the only person at the class. Prior to the class, I was not told about any rules regarding what happens if only one person signed up for the class and ended up paying twice as much for one class. The manager said at one point, they would reimburse me due to the misunderstanding, but then an hour later, called me to tell me that the owner refused to reimburse me. Cons: Cramped rooms. Dangerous where the machines were only about a feet apart from other. more

Excellent Pilates Classes at Very Reasonable Rates 7/20/2006

I love the classes here, once you start seeing results, it is addictive. This location is very nice, machines are new, the web scheduler is a fantastic and convenient feature. You can make sure days in advance that you are signed up for a class with your favorite instructor before it fills up. more

Great find. 7/11/2005

One of the best deal in town. At $25 a class, I just can't find anything else cheaper (and better). Ann is truly amazing, she won't let you slack. I was never an atheltic person before pilates, and was never able to keep up with any other classes. But with this, after just a couple of weeks, I can see my body slowly changing, tightening up. The website scheduler also helped me alot. I would sign up days before, so I won't let myself get out of it no matter what the weather was. The only "downer" is that the changing room is very small, and only 2 of them. Pros: effective, location, good teacher Cons: small changing room more

Great strength workout 3/23/2005

It's the one of the few places in the city that offers group reformer classes - most others are expensive private classes. Ann, the owner, is a very good teacher. She is tough but encouraging. The classes are small - unlike the huge yoga studios. Ann walks around and corrects your form. Pros: Price, Staff, Good equipment Cons: No real locker area more

An affordable reformer class! 10/25/2004

I've been looking for a really good pilates class offering reformer techniques. And I finally found it with Reforming New York. For the price of what most people pay for mat classes-- $25, I have the use of a reformer in an attentive small class environment. Pros: reformer classes, top level 1 teacher, small classes Cons: , bathroom outside, need more hours more

A real treat! 7/28/2004

I always leave this class in a good mood. Kind of like when you get a facial or take vitamins - you know you just did something good for yourself. Anne is a fantastic instructor. She attentively watches over each student, making sure he/she is in proper form. Most pilates classes offer little more than a mat for group classes, at an average price of $15/class. Here you get your own machine! The package deals are a great bargain. Just don't try to get out of a cancellation fee for missing an AM class (reservation required). Further incentive to not sleep in on a Saturday morning. more

Fit at Last 1/14/2003

I am a 50 year old woman and I was totally out of shape, but thanks to Anne, I am feeling fit and confident. Anne is a fantastic teacher, concise and patient. The studio has modern equipment and is very clean. Also, the classes are affordable and small. For the price to be able to use a machine is heaven. All I can say is, Thankyou Anne more

pilates, the way to go 10/25/2002

work out 4 times a week- but feel like adding pilates has done wonders- legs and arms and abs have much more definition and strength. ann is a terrific instructor - really takes care that you learn the proper technique. more

Great classes, individual attention 10/24/2002

The classes are great, and the instructors are excellent. The group classes are unusual in that there is plenty of room, and despite the group atmosphere each member of the class receives individualized attention. I didn't know anything about Pilates and now am addicted! Pros: Great instruction, Inexpensive, convenient more

2,4,6.8 midtown pilates is so great! 10/14/2002

the classes are small enough that it feels like a one-on-one session everytime i've gone. both instructors are excellent and each one brings a different perspective to the excercises. Pros: inexpensive, great teachers, easy midtown location Cons: don't let you cheat more
