Worst

I heard good things about this place, which may have caused me to come in expecting much more than I got. My single shot americano was very disappointing; it tasted burnt and wasn...

Funky Coffee Shop 1/4/2006

Unique people like a change in decor sometimes. This is not the typical coffee house, rather a very eclectic atmosphere with ok coffee and stuff. It is dimly lit at night so a kick back sort of place. It also has an outdoor seating area. Something different! more

Funky old house, fun neighborhood, good menu 8/21/2005

This place is perfect for a chilled conversation with a few good friends, or some lover enchanted staring with wine. They have beer & wine, some food, but mostly it's a good desert place. The prices are great but the service is pretty sketchy. Be prepared to wait, and just have an overall open mind about you experience and you'll be fine! Pull up a couch or sit outside and enjoy a hookah (tobacco, of course). more

A warm place for friends, loved ones, and laughter 6/23/2005

The Pied Cow is great for a quiet snack with friends. It's more expensive than a lot of coffee cafes, if not vastly, but the real reward is the ambiance -- an outdoor garden that's a little world unto itself, or an intimate warm room hung with art and cozy seating. It's often crowded, but somehow never feels overfull, even when there's a wait. (I've never had a very long wait, though.) The lighting is dim, and this is most definitely a spot to visit with your people -- a good place to end an evening or begin one Fare is essentially appetizers, desserts and beverages: they do wonderful steamers for a little over $3, and luxurious espresso drinks for closer to $4. Desserts and appetizers start at around $4 and upwards, most of them around $6-7. The Pied Cow is most usually open until 1:00 AM, and I heartily recommend it. Although I'm told they overbrew their tea (I haven't tried it, but I tend to like mine that way, so it's a matter of taste) going here always makes me feel like a faerie queen at the best tea party in the world. more
