Philadelphia Flower Show 2012 3/7/2012

I was very disappointed this year! What a fabulous theme "Aloha" but unfortunately this years show did not feel welcoming at all. The main stage was beautiful with a lovely waterfall but the majority of it was situated so low I couldn't see the hula dancers over the crowds of people. The layout made it very conjested to get around. And, So many venders, it felt as if I stepped into an infomercial. After paying $27 for our tickets, $11 train ride and lunch, we had no money left to buy anything. I would have much rather have seen more floral displays and Hawaiian music. Better luck next year! more

I will never go back 3/6/2012

The Flower shows 5-6 years ago were much better...this year, 2012 was horrible, and dangerously crowded, you couldn't get near any of the displays, people were rude, pushing and shoving? They didn't have attendents at the escallators, so, people just packed onto them, and when you got to the top, people just stopped, leaving the rest of us, getting off, to push them out of the way...it was awful, and the food was shamefully expensive, the entire building was over 3/4 full of vendors, and the displays they did have were scantly done. Not worth it, I took a day off of work to see nothing, and let me tell you, if, there were an emergency, people would get trampled...they pack them in like sardines, and it's very unfair, and hugely unsafe....They ought to be ashamed of themselves. And as Philly people are, the attendents are extremely rude, unhappy and forget how to be nice. I took a day off of work to see this? Never again. more

A Little Piece of Everywhere 1/18/2006

A few years ago, my Grandmother bought tickets to the flower show for herself, me and my mother... for mother's day. It was a fantastic excursion into a fantasy garden. Each step was garnished with wonder... Each small individual garden gave a glimpse of another contient. The downside... the business and crowd... The upside... The miniature rooms in a judged exhibit. tiny little gardens cultivated in tiny little lit boxes, and hand crafted miniature furniture and lamps. more

Crowded, expensive, but one of a kind 1/17/2006

The Philadelphia Flower show is not to be missed. The displays and the sheer breadth of the exhibits is breathtaking. Sure, it's really expensive to take a family, and most days the crowds are dense...but it's really a one of a kind type of experience. It really is beautiful. more

stop for a while 1/16/2006

The Philadelphia Flower show is a yearly event you cannot miss. It occurs in Center City at the Philadelphia Convention center. Its got a great variety of flowers and love the little displays and how they tie in everything. i absolutely love the hawaian flowers they had last year. There is ample amount of paid parking available all around. Its good idea to visit in the afternoon when the crowds are limited. more

Smell the roses! 1/15/2006

The Philadelphia Flower Show is held every year in March at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Center City. It is a great way to get ready for spring and enjoy the beautiful garden displays. You don't feel like you are in the Convention Center- each display transports you to some other world. It gets very crowded, so go early to avoid the crowds. Take advantage of the cooking demonstrations and the other demos going on. The train is a great way to go and avoid parking hassles. more
