Well, I've got this general liability policy with Per Project Insurance (PPI) a few months ago and last week I've got this policy cancelled and I've signed up with another insurer. Here are my reasonings for switching
1. It is not possible to get in touch with customer service. It is always 'anusually hight number of phone calls'. However, if you choose 'buy a new policy' you will get your call answered in seconds. I did try calling customer service for a few days in a row with no luck.
2. Another thing that was pretty alarming for me is that if you are trying to pay online for your insurance you will be redirected to Western Union payment processing! So, you are paying via Western Union! The company doesn't have its own payment system! It is raising a big concern for me. How big is the company if they cannot afford its own payment processing? Is it just a couple of guys that just recently got this company running? What is the chance that this insurance company would be able to pay the coverage in case of any accident? ..... You know... Western Union.... 'Unusually high volume of calls' for a few days in a row....
3. After several days of trying to reach the customer service I finally succeeded and I asked customer service representative to mail the insurance certificate to me. You know what I've got in my mail a week later? I've got a poor quality scanned copy of the certificate that was printed on either defective printer or that printer ran out of toner. So,....... How would you feel about a company that cannot afford a good printer to print a certificate of insurance for the customer?
I wouldn't feel safe with such insurance company and I wouldn't recommend this insurance to others.
P.S. I got me a new general liability coverage from another insurance company with A+ rating for a half of PPI charge. I hope that this review will help other small business owners to make right decision about general liability insurance provider.
