This has to be the #1 vegan place in the city. I am addicted to their buffet because of the wide range of choices. The hot and sour soup is a well-balanced flavor experience.. I especially love the fresh tofu and sweet kim chee. On Sundays, the sushi offerings will delight the palate--especially when you consider that no animal products are included. The fried bananas and sesame and bean treats are to die for and the light delicate flavors of the agar 'jello' are always a surprise--pineapple, tea, coffee. The owners are dedicated to healthy, tasty cuisine and are quite warm and welcoming. You can feel perfectly comfortable here! Pepper Tree also has the BEST water of any restaurant I've been to--it's triple filtered--and it's always constantly flowing. I cannot get enough of this water! Pros: Easy-going ambience, great variety of taste and excellent quality of fresh, fresh food! I was kind of taken back by the 11.99 price of the weekend buffet. It did have a wide selection of vegetarian food but much of it had sat under the heat lamp for a while. I went to this restaurant awhile back and loved the experience. Food was wonderful, and they really lived up to their name--Veggie Cuisine. A couple small set backs include that the restaurant was quite small, and the buffet food selection was fairly limited, and thus I think they overcharged alittle bit. However, the tidy astomphere and the taste of the food made up for it. Whether you're a vegetarien or not, this restaurant defintily deserves a try!
