I will not go there again 5/11/2008

I had called the Eagan shop for a bike hitch which they said they had. On driving there on a rainy day they said they dont have it and directed me to their bloomington shop. To my surprise they dont have it in stock and and on checking the inventory they said the eagan shop had it in the system and they were never called about this. I was left not feeling helped. The attitude of the guys in the shop were not friendly either. Looks like there is a major disconnect with the people on the floor and what they have in the shop. I wish there was some honesty rather than sending me on a wild goose chase from applevalley to eagan and bloomington on a crappy rainy day!!!!!! more

Lackluster at best, misleading at worst 7/6/2007

Before we started dating, my fiance went into Penn Cycle to buy a hybrid bike for commuting. They told her a specific model could easily fit a rear-rack. She bought it. This wasn't true. When she went back and talked to the very same saleperson for a rear-rack later, he told her it wouldn't fit and would require some extra work. Even then, it still might not work. That was frustrating. Recently, she decided she wanted a road bike so, while still not happy with Penn, wanted to check them out for prices. They kept trying to push her to lower quality bikes that I think were overstocked and wouldn't really explain any of the features. We went elsewhere pretty quick. We got better service in every other bike store we went to. I won't consider Penn again. Pros: possibly price, if they have exactly what you want at a cheaper price Cons: misleading, either ignorant or disinterested salespeople more

Wonderful service department! 6/28/2007

I went in to Penn Cycle in Bloomington after calling ""the other guy"" and being treated with disrespect and bad customer service. I had a flat tire, battery on a pedometer to be replaced, a brake that was sticking and my gear shifter needing to be realigned. The man at the service counter was extremely friendly, put my bike up on the stand, fixed everything, showed me how I could do the little things myself in the future, and did it all with a smile. I will not be going to ""the other guys"" again. I will drive the extra distance to bring my bike in for repair to Penn Cycle. Pros: Service, Time, cost more
