Working near by, on Swan Island, it's wonderful to have such a beautiful park nearby to stroll and escape for a picnic lunch on occasion. The great fountains, beautiful roses, mature trees, all add to giving you that tucked away feeling so close to the city. Taking a lunch, sitting on the near a fountain or a shaded park bench, is such a nice change of pace from the daily grind. A real jewel! Plenty of street parking. On hot days, drive around the park to find a shady spot! more

Surprising! 7/23/2002

In the heart of the inner city is a gorgeous park with lovely ponds and fountains that any neighborhood would be proud of. Lots of hundred year old trees and well maintained ball fields, an active community center with indoor pool... Peninsula Park with its Lovely sunken gardens is what a community park should be; the center and heartbeat of the neighborheed and a safe place for children. Pros: Sunken gardens, Water Features, picnic areas Cons: dog poop more
