Peace of Mind

I have been going to Peace of Mind skin care for 8+ years now. I originally came in for treatment for severe chemical burns to my face that I received from products prescribed by a Bev Hills esthetician. Not only do I have no scarring from the burn (I have dark skin and hyper pigment) but as an added bonus, I have no wrinkles and wonderful texture. I am also prone to cystic acne & have pretty severe Malasma and I must tell you, there are barely any signs of any of it now. Wendei knows skin. Her custom peels & facials are phenomenal. Wendei is driven to always be on lookout for the newest, latest and greatest, healthiest products. She tries everything first, so that she can give you firsthand knowledge of the product and service she is providing. I am 45 years old and frequently am told I look 10+ years younger. I have Wendei to thank for that. I can't recommend Wendei enough. She and her handpicked team are exceptional. more

I've been to a ton of fancy-schmancy spas for facials ... I always walk away thinking, I think they just did something very bad to my skin. After reading reviews on here for Peace of Mind, I scheduled a facial with Angela. Pros: They really take the time to get to know your skin Cons: Can't think of any more

I've been battling with breakouts for too long. Made an appointment with Wendei and was able to get in on the same day I called! She was so helpful - listed to everything I'd been doing and gave me recommendations based on my needs. Noticed results right after it was over! I've been seeing a dermatologist for over a year and got more out of one session with Wendei than all of that! Can't wait to go back! Pros: incredibly knowledgable, terrific results, tailored to you! Cons: nothing! more

I've been to all the big name spas and have had good, bad and okay experiences. Peace of Mind is in a whole different league. It's an adorable little space across from the Studio City library. I can't believe they've been there for 11 years! My first appointment was for a facial. While my skin is normally pretty clear, I'd been breaking out and also wanted to know what I should be doing as far as anti-aging. Susan was my esthetician and gave me an amazing facial, managing to extract every little blackhead while I zoned out listening to Sirius satellite radio. Much better than Enya or whale music! After the facial, Susan went over an ""action plan"" to get my skin looking its best. She's a great advertisement for her services because her skin is perfect. She looks 10 years younger than she is! I ended up buying a cleanser and sunscreen and Susan gave me samples of a few other products she recommended. I love what I bought and plan to work my way up to using only Glymed products. She also did a quick eyebrow cleanup at no charge. I have since gone back for Brazilian waxing and airbrush tanning. I have never gotten so many compliments! And it's not ""Wow, great fake bake"" and the eyebrow shaping she did is subtle, but manages to make my eyes look bigger and my cheekbones higher. I could rave about this place all day. Run, don't walk to Peace of Mind. The prices are very reasonable (and there are coupons on Citysearch) and Susan has been extremely accommodating of my insane schedule, even seeing me at 8:30 pm for a facial! All of my friends who've taken my advice have been just as thrilled with the very professional, but very personal way they conduct their business. Oh, and the waxing - NO DOUBLE DIPPING!! I've been to Wax Poetic and had my brows done by the owner, Kerry. She didn't even change the paper on the table! And she used a stick that already had wax on it from her last customer! I don't need any parasites with my waxing, thank you. This place is just first rate. more

I have had problem skin FOREVER and all the makeup I wear to cover it doesn't help matters. I saw the great reviews posted and had the most amazing facial from Susan. The place is adorable - private, cozy, and comfortable. Susan took the time to talk to me before the facial and find out exactly what I wanted and how I thought it was impossible for me to ever love my skin. I got the DermaSound ultrasonic facial and could not believe how much better I looked after just one treatment! I bought some of the products Susan recommended and she was very mindful of my budget and loaded me up with samples (love that!). Within a week, I could see a visible improvement. My skin is glowing, the spots left over from my spots are fading, and even my forehead wrinkles are gone! Going to Peace of Mind, I had high hopes but low expectations, having been to all the big name spas and multiple dermatologists and no one displayed the same concern for me that Susan did, and she customized the facial to my skin. Even the extractions hardly hurt! I found out while I was there that they do waxing and airbrush tanning, so I think I'll be seeing a lot of Susan in the future! more

I had my first Derma Sound Plus Ultrasonic Facial. My face felt hydrated, smooth and perky. I noticed the darkness under my eyes seem to have gotten lighter. I don't have to put as much concealer on either. I can't wait for my next session! Pros: Noticable results after the first treatment Cons: I want to have a facial every day! more

I was very excited when I learned that my favorite esthetician was working at Peace of Mind. I'd heard good things about the place before, but once I found out that Susan was working there, it totally tipped me over the edge to switching. Susan is the best waxer EVER, and if she can make my lady bits that smooth, just imagine what she can do for my face! Not only that, but she's got a great personality, and seems really knowledgeable about the products she uses and how to care for skin. Peace of Mind is a really nice place, too. I feel great when I leave -- calm, relaxed and glowy. more

AMAZING PLACE! Wendei is awesome and knows so much about skincare. Her skin is absolutely beautiful so that showed me she knows how to treat skin. I came to her for the first time and got pampered. My skin was literally glowing after I walked out. She also Whitened My TEETH!! I didn't even know you could get this done at a spa but WOW my teeth looked so white and bright afterwards. I am a smoker and coffee drinker and she told me I was a great candidate for whitening so I did it and ended up going down 9 shades lighter in just 30 minutes!!! Pros: Teeth whitening and facials are awesome more

I'm 62 & have been going to Wendei for ultrasonic facials for four years. Most people think I look ten years younger than I truly am. Although her Studio City location is a little inconvenient for me (ten miles from home) and her hours are limited Wendei's facials are definitely the most effective part of my skin care routine. I gave her chocolate facial to a friend as a present and I heard raves about it. I went to Wendei as a referral back in March 2007. I wanted a facial before my son's wedding, but did not want something aggressive that might cause me to break out before. Wendei considered my concerns and gave me perfect skin for the big event. Pros: Nice array of treatments offered. Treatments are not assembly line, but customized. Cons: I wish Wendei were closer to me!! more

Wendei is a fantastic and caring esthetician. I started going to her in my mid-30s with little knowledge about skin care or what I need to do to keep my skin from aging too quickly. She looked at my skin and knew exactly what to do. I've been getting her derma-sound facial treatments and have been using her recommended products for the last 3-4 years. Now at age 41 my skin has not aged at all - really!!!. I'm a devoted client. I'd love to keep her to myself, but she's so good I don't mind sharing her with the rest of LA. If you want beautiful skin at any age, I highly recommend you go see her. more

I've never had a facial before so I didn't know what to expect. I tried the Ultrasonic facial and I have to admit it really helped my complexion after one treatment! I did the acne treatment and have scarring and occasional breakouts and noticed a significant difference. Little did I know getting facials really do help your skin. I felt refreshed and clean and was happy to see lasting results when I studied my skin in the mirror. more

I was a little skeptical at first when I first heard about Peace of Mind. I?m African American and I have problems with hyperpigmentation and not every esthetician knows how to treat darker complexions (even though they say they do) but after speaking with Wendi I knew I was in good hands. Wendi and I spoke on the phone for about ? hour (who does that anymore!) and she assured me that she has worked with all types of skin. I booked my appointment with Carly who Wendi has been personally training for awhile. Carly was wonderful! She was extremely gentle and I barely even felt the extraction process. After I was finished she asked what products I was using. I told her I was happy with the products I was using and she said fine. No hard sales pitch or anything! I will definitely be going back to Peace of Mind as a matter of fact I already booked my second appointment. Pros: Not a cookie cutter salon Cons: They don't sell their handsoap that they use in their restroom : ) more

My facial with Wendei was amazing! My skin is now glowy and as soft as a baby's butt. I have problems with breakouts, especially when I have PMS, so I had one of the spa week 55 Min Customized Facials With Ultrasonic Exfoliation For Oily & Acneic Skin. Wendei was incredibly knowledgeable and great about explaining the whole process as well as the specific needs of my skin. Also, unlike other estheticians I've visited, Wendei doesn't pressure you into purchasing product at all (but I did purchase a couple of products, both of which were incredibly affordable). The whole experience was very positive relaxing. I?ve already booked my next appointment for a DermaSound Plus Ultrasonic Facial. Would definitely recommend Peace of Mind! I hadn't had a facial for some time, so I made an appointment with some trepidation. Wendei, the owner of Peace of Mind really gave me peace of mind. Her competence and enthusiasm put me at ease. I was also pleased to discover the intimacy of her spa. Lots of personal attention without the many doors and rooms of other spas. It was more like a facial in a comfortable cottage with a friend wants to teach you to love your skin. There was no high pressure sales pitch which was refreshing. Pros: Excellent service - - private and personal Cons: Not easily seen from the street so be careful not to drive by! more

As a Los Angeles native I have been to many spas and facialists over the years. I have loved and hated many. After LA Spa Week, I had heard great reviews about Peace of Mind Skincare. I booked my first appointment and was nervous about going to a boutique spa in the valley. My facialist, Carly, was amazing!! I was so relaxed to a dream like state while wanting to stay alert enough to absorb the knowledge being given to me about my skin. Her suggestions and comments about my skin were right on! She was personable and professional. This was THE BEST facial I have had in years!! The price was reasonable and the one on one treatment was the best! I highly recommend this facial to anyone! The best part about it was that I left educated with no pressure to buy products. Ended up buying something I needed and wanted. while they sampled me on a few I wanted to try out! more

Okay I've had a lot of facials because of acne; I walked in thinking ""ACNE FACIAL""......PAIN....BURN..... RED..... Well, to my surprise..... It was painless..... Her facial is what a facial should be: a skin CARE appointment. I didn't feel the ""BIG SELL? to purchase products. However, I did buy a whole new daily regimen and DON?T FORGET THE SUNSCREEN!! THE PRODUCT IS GREAT...... THE STAFF IS EVEN BETTER....... If you have acne and you listen to this woman she will help you get rid of it....... GET PEACE OF MIND.... I DID! Wendei is LA's best secret.....well, not anymore. She is amazing, her spa is lovely and it was worth my drive. I drove 30 miles (which in LA amounts to an hour in traffic). She takes her time to get to know you and your skin. She does an extensive consultation with you and really is passionate about making sure your skin is well taken care of. I arrived early for my appointment and got to see how she interacts with her clients and her clients really love her. I can't imagine going to anyone else. She didn't push products on me and believe me, I am weak when it comes to sales people. I am counting the days when I can go back for another spa treatment. I am telling everyone about her and hoping my girlfriends will have the luxury of getting an appointment with her. Her knowledge on skin care is amazing. I am hooked!!!!
