Peabody prep orchestra 4/8/2006

The Peabody Prepartory division has a very talented orchestra that plays a few concerts a year. Our daughter played in it for two years and also took a chamber music class at the prep school. The orchestra is very disciplined, more so than another area youth orchestra that she also belonged to. If your high school musician is frustrated with the public school music program (as was ours), check out Peabody Prep. They have a lot to offer in the way of opportunities for advanced training. more

The Peabody Institute is a world-class musical conservatory, with one of the strongest opera programs in the country. They have recently undergone a full-scale renovation to their main building and performance hall. I loved attending the Friday night concerts featuring my colleagues and friends enrolled at Peabody. Ticket prices are fairly reasonable, and the music is unbelievable. This venue is one of the best in Baltimore, so be sure to check it out! more

The Peabody is a musical arts school turning out professionally trained musicians,but they also hold live performances for the public. They have 5 halls for orchestral ensembles,chamber groups,opera theater and jazz combos.It is a offshoot of Johns Hopkins University,which is one of the best known educational systems in the world. So check it out and see for yourself more
