The View Ridge store is smaller than the Green Lake or Fremont stores, and accordingly does not have nearly the selection of those places. However, it has pretty much all of the basics in produce, bulk items, dairy, meat, cheese, bread, and frozen food. I like knowing I'm shopping at a place that stocks mostly organic products, with many of them further certified Fair Trade or sold by cooperative or environmentally sound businesses. The employees have always been friendly to me.
PCC is the biggest food cooperative in the nation, but you don't get any further benefits of the economy of scale than other food coops. While I understand the need to set a sale margin high enough to run with business, it's still going to be beyond the reach of many people financially. I bought the lifetime membership for $60, which gets you 10% off one purchase per month (on top of any other sales going on at the time). If you only go once a month for special items and take advantage of that discount, you will end up paying for your membership within a year or two.
