Everything from scheduling delivery to showing any flexability is very difficult with these people. It is their way, their rules, their policy. I guess no one told them that this ...

finally a place that sells mahogany and cherry finely made furniture!!!! 10/2/2011

Good: I just was transferred to Milwaukee and purchased a fabulous home on the Lae front--I hadnt realized that Paul Weise Furniture existed till one day while exploring the east side I drove down Farwell to meet friends for lunch at the Pasta Tree Restaurant-I couldnt believe my luck when I nearly sped past their display windows. Granted they are an emporium of fine furniture in an odd location I thought-but once I strolled through their store I was delighted to have found them.... Bad: It takes so long for custom made furniture to arrive but then again it is made to my specifications --something that so many other stores do not offer-yes in other stores you can select a diffrent fabric but here you can change the arm, the shirt, the seat cushions and even change the lengths of sofas to the inch!! not to mention an infinite variety of fabrics!!. Other: I hope I can direct other friends and neighbors to this wonderful place they tell me their store has been at the same location since it was founded in 1886--just amazing---and it is their only location--. more

Fine Hand Made Furniture 2/4/2011

I have been a loyal and devoted customer of this store for over twenty years-they have been steadfast in their committment to having the finest hand-crafted traditional furniture and upholstry made in the United States represented in their store which I believe has been in the same spot for over 125 years in Milwaukee! This is an establishment worth going to in Milwaukee and spending time to learn why and how fine furniture is made. Yes, fine handmade furniture is expensive and sometimes the sticker shock is quite an experience-but when you consider all the hours that someone has spent carving, hand finishing and polishing these well made pieces, then the price actually seems reasonable. Each piece of upholstery is made entirely by hand. The frames are all wood construction-you can't see how its made but ask and they will explain the methods used to you They even have their own in-house upholstery department and you can have some of your own faded and well worn pieces completely re-upholstered with new seat cushions of your choice and a huge endless supply of wonderful fabric choices along with an excellent interior design department. I have been so lucky and spoiled by their delivery people who do a wonderful job bringing in furniture and placing it to my satisfaction in my home. From time to time I have had the occassion to request some expertise to care for my mahogany and cherry pieces and they have sent out only the best furniture touch-up specialists. and when I needed help placing and figuring out what to buy they provided their own Interior Design staff members to come out and help me with selecting colors, fabrics , window treatment and even custom area rugs I was very pleased with the results as have many of my friends and my husband business associates as well. I enjoy visiting to see what new accessory and or gift I can purchase because they always welcome me back like an old friend. They are quite delightful and somtimes a bit quirky -all part of the charm of an one-of-a-kind furniture store!! more
