Diana is amazing!!! 5/9/2008

First off, I just want to say that I really love my hair cut that I got at this salon! I find everyone that works there to be really sweet and friendly. But also stylish! I went in and told them what I was looking for. I even brought a picture in. This lovely lady by the name of Diana said she could totally hook it up and make it happen. She cut it and even suggested ways to make it work better for my hair type and shape of face. I have to say it is hard to trust someone with your hair for the first time and I went from longer hair to a much shorter style. But she was so great and people everywhere I go keep telling how great I look and I believe them. Because of Diana I have new found confidence, thanks girl!!!!! Try this place out you will not be disappointed! more

Just Go Already 10/18/2007

Patrick has been cutting my hair for 11 years, and not only mine, but my sisters and both my parents and even my grandmother's hair. Everyone I have recommended him to has given me great feedback. His color looks natural, and my hair actually usually looks better a few days AFTER I get it cut, because how it looks when i leave the salon only matters for a few hours. He really usually just makes my hair looks its best. I have insane curly hair, so this is no easy task. My sisters with straight hair come out with equally awesome cuts. He really is the best, and the vibe is really nice at the salon. Patrick is also one of the coolest people I've ever met, the music and his conversation is a fun way to pass some time. I've honestly gone with my grandmother when she got her hair trimmed, and she fell asleep while I talked to Patrick. But she falls asleep a lot. And even when I've needed a cut and Patrick was away (he always manages to squeeze me in when he's here), the other stylists have always done a great job. Everyone from the Pac Heights homemakers to the hipsters to my bicycle loving dad seems to leave pleased with their 'do. And I honestly wonder why Patrick doesn't move to LA and start charging like $800 for a cut and color. But don't tell him, I would start having to drive there just to get my hair cut. more

Lacy + Patrick Richards Salon = AMAZING HAIR 2/5/2007

I'm new to the city, having relocated from Los Angeles where I'd had the same trusted hairstylist for years... I was really worried that finding her replacement would be time consuming and potentially dangerous. It's a good thing I went with my instincts and trusted citysearch to point me in the right direction, after researching some different salons in my area I decided to give Patrick Richards a try - it definitely had the most positive reviews out of them all. I instantly loved the energy of the place and my stylist, Lacy, made me feel comfortable and taken care of the moment I sat down in her chair. We were chatting like old friends right away, she understood exactly what it was I was looking for in my new do and had some really great ideas of her own - I couldn't be happier with my new haircut! I walked away with not only a hip, fresh look, but a new friend as well. LACY GETS MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!!! more

Best Natural-Looking Highlights and Versatile Cuts in all of SF 2/2/2007

I'm a girl on a budget these days, so although I LOVE funky hair, I've had to go more natural to save some visits to the salon. I went to Patrick Richards on the recommendation of a friend and although it's a bit out of the way for this North Beacher, it's TOTALLY worth it. Pros: Service, Ambience, Stylists Cons: Location more

Love Lacy T... Love 'er... 2/2/2007

I showed up at my appointment time and she got me under the scissors instantly. She is kind, conversational and most importantly a master of hairstyling. I actually picked her through citysearch (because the website is so often on the mark) and I can't believe how much I lucked out with this one. She is my regular stylist for good. I walked out of that place feeling happy, happenin' and hot!!! more

Lacy Rocks!!! 2/2/2007

Ok, so I'm totally picky when it comes to my hair. Lacy at Patrick Richards is my new S.F. favorite! She totally took her time and listened to me, and gave me the best haircut I've EVER HAD!!! That says alot, let me tell you. My haircolor is beautiful, and I looked so glamourous when I left. She totally took her time and styled out my crazy textured hair....I cant wait to go back. YAY! Pros: Funky/artsy atmosphere more

Beautiful color and cool hair cuts! 10/19/2006

I gave Diana G. a photo of a hairstyle that I really wanted her to replicate weeks before the cut and she remembered it perfectly. I finally made an appointment with her and Aaron a colorist she recommended to me. I started with Aaron and he was so polite and precise with his color mix. His coloring not only matched the color I like but his mixture left my normally dull hair lustrous and shiny. Pros: Perfection in cuts and color. Cons: Might be hard to get an appointment. more

Like getting your hair cut in an art gallery! 10/16/2006

When my favorite stylist, Diana, moved to Patrick Richards, I made the trek across town and it was totally worth it! Not only do I continue to get the best haircuts I've ever had, but now I am surrounded by cool art and decor while the magic happens! A great hair stylist at a great salon! Pros: Ambience, mad skills. Cons: Location: waiting for the Mission outpost! more

Diana at Patrick Richards rocks the spot! 9/9/2006

Diana has been my stylist for the last year, and now that she's at Patrick Richards, the experience is even better. The Laurel Heights neighborhood is great, parking isn't difficult, and the atmosphere in the salon is cool and relaxed (with extra points for the funky green bathroom). Diana's a magician with the scissors. I thought I knew what a good cut was until she came along. Now I'll never go back to anyone else. more

Great atmosphere, great service. 8/15/2006

I couldn't agree more with the other posts. I love the music and atmosphere, friendly service etc. I usually view getting my hair done as something of a nag, but I actually enjoy kicking back here. Pros: Thoughtful, helpful service more

Great atmosphere! very friendly too 8/5/2006

I was sooo worried! my hairdresser had left the place she was at and I couldn't find her!. But she contacted me!!!!!!! Horray, Thats what is soo special about Diana Gallegos, she cares about her clients. She not only cares about your hair care but she also cares about you as a person. She always makes me feel like its all about me when I come in to get my hair done! She always has great ideas about new styles and I ALWAYS get compliments after. Its not unusual for me to get stopped on the street and asked ""who does your hair?"" . Maybe I shouldn't be singing her praise too much, then she might get to busy to see me.... ;) Seek her out you won't be dissapointed! Pros: its a cool fun place more

Rock out and get fixed up 1/10/2006

I have been going to Patrick Richard's for 2+ years. He is consistently great. Plus the atmosphere there is so laid back and fun. Always great music... determined by Patrick's mood for the day. I have recommended him to many friends, all of whom have continued to see him as well. (Patrick does a great job with color!) I love Patrick Richard's Hair Salon and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. _____ _____ ... and 3 years later, I am STILL going to Patrick Richards. I have moved to Oakland and make the drive to the city to see him. It is well worth it. AND, my husband goes now too. 5 years and counting... I still love Patrick Richards Salon! Pros: Great people, Honest (Tells you no), Exceptional Quality more

Patricks salon is not just the best in SF, it's the best I've ever been to in the world! On top of having a shop full of fun people and a great atmosphere, every time I've gone to Patrick my hair looks great. Everyone is a lot of fun and good at what they do...I recommend people to Patrick all the time. (He always has cute receptionists too). more

The Best Hairstylist in SF 11/20/2003

Not only has Patrick made my hair look it's best ever, he has also become a good friend of mine over the past three years. I always look forward to going into his salon b/c the entire experience... the friendly receptionists, his assistant and good stylist, Sara, the conversation and the music make it worth my time. Patrick has the knowledge and years of experience, so he knows what is best for all types of hair. He will be more than happy to do what you come in asking for, but if what you want won't work on your hair, he will offer alternatives that will make you just as happy! His color and highlights turn out very natural for a very realistic price. Patrick has made me and all my friends look our best and we are always satisfied! Once you go to him, you'll never leave him! more

  • In Short
""Shampoo"" movie stills, tiki curiousities and a water-filled vase with sunken eight balls set a playful mood at this basement-floor beauty salon. Much larger than it appears...
