Wonderful Experience, great staff! 5/9/2011

My husband and I went to San Antonio for our anniversary just as a weekend getaway. We scheduled a couples massage with Patricia's hoping that the good reviews would mean we would enjoy our experience. (Being from out of town we had no idea what part of town this was in, didn't know anyone who recommended it to us, etc.). Well, it's a little hidden and is in a quaint little farm house. So cute. But when you get inside it's very up-to-date and modern. VERY spacious. \r \r We signed in and within 5 mins they were taking us back to the changing rooms. The bathrooms were very nice and clean and they had all kinds of ammenities there in case you needed (i.e. hairspray, cotton balls, q-tips, contact solution (which I was VERY grateful for after our massage!)). \r \r The massage room was very nice. My husband and I had a couples massage on our honeymoon and it was weird because we weren't next to each other but more like in 2 separate rooms where they had simply removed a divider. This was much different. We were next to each other and it was much more intimate. Our masseuses were VERY good at what they do. I heard my husband snoring for a few seconds! It felt wonderful!\r \r When we were leaving the guy at the front desk (whom I has spoken to earlier as I was waiting for my husband to finish changing) even made us a list of recommended eating places for the evening as I had told him our previous plans had changed and we didn't really know where we were going to go for dinner. We kind of wanted to eat locally and not at a chain we could've chosen at home. It was so nice of them. The list has the addresses, phone# and the style of food and it was just a wonderful gesture that was over and beyond. \r \r If I'm ever in San Antonio I would definitely go back to Patricia's!\r more

Facial was great 2/20/2009

My husband and daughters gave me a facial and manicure for my birthday. I had never had one before. I went to Patricias Day Spa and the experience was great. The only con was the wait. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and waited over 30 minutes before they called me back. the Facial was amazing. The gentlemen who did it was great. He talked but not to much. It was so relaxing. i would definately go back again with him. I also had a manicure. That was not so great. I could have done a better job myself. She was very unprofessional. And complained about her the people who worked there as well as the type of people who came to get things done. She was in the process of moving so she kept answering her phone. I did not like that. But other than the manicure It was a very good experience. I will definately do another facial there. I hope my husband gets me another one for mothers day. Pros: facial, atmosphere was great. not pushy on sales Cons: manicure. not done well more

Do Not Go! 6/27/2008

Horrible! I had an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. This was my first (and last) time here. At first, it seemed fabulous: the location, scenery, people, etc. But then the lady to do my nails came & got me. We went back to do my feet. That's when it started to go down the drain. This woman was completely unprofessional. She was gossiping about personal issues and relationships that people just don?t want to hear about when they?re at a spa relaxing. She even was complaining about how snooty the kind of people are that go to spas! When she asked what color I wanted for my nails, she literally stated she was not good at French tips. What manicurist is not good at French manicures?! And she repeated this several times, about how bad she was at doing the white tips. It was finally all over and done with (thank goodness), as she was still gossiping about her personal life and completely inappropriate things no one wants to hear about. My nail lengths were not even. They were jagged. The lengths on both hands were not the same. Just two days later, my nail color was peeling off as if it was just a coating of school glue! I took off the cheap color, filed and colored my own d**n nails with a little 90 cent bottle of nail polish, and did a significantly & noticeably better job than this joke of a spa. I will never go back. It was an entire waste of time, money ($80), effort, energy, emotion, distress? etc., etc. Pros: None. Cons: Everything. more

Very Nice 2/3/2006

I get a facial about every three months and have been to 3 other spas in San Antonio besides Patricia's. The others were disappointing in comparison with poor aestheticians, noisy, crowded, anti-relaxation environments, and high-pressure sales pitches for products. Patricia's is quiet, serene and spacious with skilled employees. I can't remember the name of the male aesthetician I had on one occasion but he was excellent. He asked a few questions about the reason for my visit (relaxation, de-stress) and then made it just that, I was so relaxed I fell asleep. Relax and enjoy. Pros: Plenty of parking, Quiet environment, Staff more

AAAAHHHH! 12/1/2005

I was so satisfied with my spa day I'm buying them for my gal pals! I started with a massage, which was interesting and relaxing. Hot stones combined with lightly scented oils, pleasant music and a massage therapist that was not too talky, but incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. Cucumber infused water refreshed me after my massage. My facial was great and the aesthetician offered some great advice for suncare and keeping my 30-something skin healthy. My pedicure was superb and made me feel like a princess, plus the color lasted longer than most since they didn't rush through the coat application. Lovely! One negative. The receptionist was a little short and not very friendly. But if you can get past that, you're home free. Pros: Spacious Digs, Staff friendly, Great parking Cons: Receptionist more

Room to Roam 11/17/2002

I visited Patricia's spa while on a business trip and found the atmosphere very relaxing. The masseuse that worked on me, I believe her name was Linda, started at the top of the scalp and worked all the way down to the toes. It was totally relaxing. There was no high-presssure sales pitch to buy the lotions and such and a tip was left at your discretion. Pros: quiet and calming, on time Cons: booked well in advanc more
