I was looking online for a budget hotel and this one seemed decent enough. I didn't care that the rooms were small and shabby, had the bare minimum amenities, and was adjacent to a very noisy street and thus not at all quiet through the night (earplugs are necessary). What I did care about was that I was treated with such contempt from the moment I arrived. I had already paid for my 2 night reservation on-line and I had a record of it, but they did not. They made me a new reservation on a different credit card and told me to clear it up in the morning. That was not a problem, a little annoying, but not a problem. When I came down in the morning to clarify the problem, they would not let me explain what the guy the previous night had done and treated me like I was an unreasonable idiot. I left for my interview hoping a new, more friendly person would be there when I returned, but instead when I returned my keycard had been deactivated. When I informed them at the desk of the problem, they said it was because I had checked out. I informed them that, in fact, I had not checked out, I had a 2 night pre-paid reservation. His response was hostile and he asked me why I had gone to the counter that morning if I wasn't checking out. I responded that I was trying to make sure they had my online reservation information corrected and I was not getting double charged. His response was that usually when people are at the desk inquiring about billing that they are checking out, so he just assumed I had. All of my personal belongings had had still been in the room when he ""checked me out"" and he didn't even make an effort to find out if things were ok. Finally, they say that the shuttle goes anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. I had two separate print-outs from the internet (google maps, and hotels . com) stating that my desired location was within their 5 mile radius but they would not take me because in their personal experience it was more than 5 miles.
Pros: Good proximity to Lincoln Park.
Cons: Horrible customer service on numerous occasions.
