Paradigm Healthcare Development was formed in 2008 by three partners - Scott L. Ziskin, Stephen L. LeGault, and Doctor Charles Bizilj. Our company was founded on the principles we had practiced during our years of hard work in healthcare: principles of integrity, ingenuity, and a firm belief in the family. We then began the search for skilled nursing facilities throughout Connecticut that could bring our vision to fruition. During the spring of 2009 six skilled nursing facilities were available from the State of Connecticut. After securing the proper trust from the State, we were awarded the opportunity to purchase these homes. On July 1, 2009, these homes officially became the Paradigm Healthcare Centers of today: Paradigm Healthcare Center of New Haven, Norwalk, Prospect, Torrington, Waterbury, and West Haven.
The buildings that are now within Paradigm Healthcare have rich histories in their communities. We are strengthening these relationships and also forging new ones. Many of our employees have been working in these homes from generations, and some have family members working alongside them.
We are heavily investing in long term care, short term rehabilitation, memory support, information technology, and innovative, modern management; while maintaining the strict clinical care and fiscal discipline that will allow us to grow into the future.
When a loved one is admitted into one of our homes, we also welcome in their family; and from their family, into ours.

LONG TERM CARE
We provide 24-Hour Skilled Nursing Care to residents who can no longer be cared for at home due to illness, injury, physical limitations, or the frailties of age. Our centers are a home for our residents. Clinical care is provided under the supervision of our Director of Nursing, our Board certified Medical Director, and a dedicated staff of registered nurses and therapists. Each of our residents is assessed to a customized Interdisciplinary Care Plan tailored to their specific needs, short and long term goals, and unique medical care and treatment.
Memory Support
Our secured Memory Support Units are designed for residents who can longer be cared for at home due to Alzheimer's or related forms of dementia. Our Memory Support Units incorporate the specific needs of each individual as they progress through the different stages of their disease. We utilize specially selected colors, sensory stimulating recreational programs, and innovative clinical approaches where our residents can live their lives in an environment that provides comfort and a sense of home. From memory boxes to tranquility programs, our residents will receive the most cutting edge, clinically and socially driven care to promote health and continued vitality.
SHORT TERM REHAB
Our Rehabilitation Program is designed for the individual who is not yet well enough to function at home due to surgery, injury, or illness. Our dedicated team of rehabilitation therapists, nurses, and doctors individually assess and create a true interdisciplinary approach to healing. Our physical, occupational, and speech therapies include the utilization of specialized modalities such as diathermy, ultrasound and electrostatic stimulation.
Sub-Acute Care
Our Sub-Acute Care Program is the addition of the technological sophistication of hospital care within the operational model of a skilled nursing facility. Our program is designed around the individual who has an acute illness, injury, or disease requiring care that is actively complex but does not require acute hospitalization.
