If you HAVE to have hot pizza at home 9/12/2007

This is a decent option for people who haven't been raised on authentic NY-style pizza. I have three main issues with their pizzas: - They put cheddar cheese on every pizza. Yeah, that's right - cheddar. I've never heard of such a thing in my life, although the cheese they use lacks "sharpness," so while this is a gross violation of pizza-making code, it's not a deal breaker. - Their crust tastes like the kind of pizza crust that comes from one of those Pillsbury cans. It lacks taste and is greasy. It feels like it's there only because it has to be. - I'll give them a lot of credit regarding topping quantity - they don't skimp. However, the quality of those toppings is suspect. Take the pepperoni for example. Remove a slice from your pizza and hold it up to the light. You can actually see through it, something that you should never be able to do. The taste isn't that much better - instead of getting a decent amount of meat in each slice of pepperoni, you get a lot of fat, which loads the pizza with grease. Back in New York only cheap places that sold large $5 "recessional" pies would get away with this. Think about the name of this place - "Papa Murphy's." I've learned to avoid pizzerias named after Irishmen, and I'm Irish myself! more

The best pizza option for families 10/7/2006

With a family of 5, delivery pizza can easily hit $40. Papa Murphy's cuts that cost nearly in half, and all I have to do is heat up the oven. The crust is perfect, not too thin, not too thick ~ bakes up perfectly every time! I really like their deLite options...a large Veggie deLite, which has like 1/3 less calories, is only around 8 bucks. They also send you home with a $1-off coupon every time. The different combos are wonderful (try the Cowboy), and they do not skimp on toppings at all. When we occasionally order delivery, it's always a surprise at how few toppings there are, compared to Papa Murphy's. Ordering their weekly special saves even more money. The Redmond store in the Creekside Crossing strip mall is very nice ~ clean, friendly employees, and they have your pizza ready in minutes. more

Decent Pizza, Decent Price 2/15/2006

Papa Murphy's claim to fame is that you go into a store, choose a ready-made, unbaked pizza and cook it when you want it at home. The things I like about it are that it's *always* hot when we're ready to eat, the price is right, and the pizzas are pretty good. My kids love it. more
