EDIT: Even though there are only 5 (dissatisfied) reviews including this one at the time of this writing, keep in mind that each review represents hundreds of customers. Only a few people will take the time to sign up and post one. Most will just spread the word and choose another pizza source. I wish I could have given this place a better review, but sadly it doesn't deserve it.
You will make it worse for others if you order from this business, because if you are not mistreated like I was, the next person may be! Look elsewhere if you want to be sure your pizza won't be handled by incompetents. I suggest you call the company to see whether there has been a change in management before ordering! I am a nursing mother and am STILL HUNGRY after deciding not to deal with this extreme disappointment of a pizza parlour.
Here's my story... Don't know how this location received more than one star.
I tried ordering delivery. Called, stated my order, asked for discount for no cheese... only $1.00 off the pizza like all other Papa John's I have ever ordered from over three states... was told ""it doesn't work like that here."" Then, asked about possible discounts online and was told that it would probably be cheaper with the coupons. Asked if they could walk me through ordering, as it was my first time visiting the website. Was told ""I don't know what the website looks like. It should be self-explanatory."" Even if it was, a kinder response would have been courteous. Then, was put on hold because he had another customer, or so he said. A woman picked up the phone and asked how she can help me. When I told her I was talking to the other rep and was put on hold because he had to deal with another customer, she said, ""Yeah, he said he didn't understand what you were saying."" I told her that he repeated word-for-word what my order was and how long it would take to deliver, and asked her what he did not understand about that. She said he left to make a delivery. I was in confusion about this and called the bluff. I told her it sounded like he just didn't want to talk to me, because he could have just told me he had to leave to make a delivery instead of making me believe that he was going to come back on the line after dealing with a customer. I also told her exactly how the conversation went and told her that all I wanted to do was order. She then told me she did not know what I wanted. I told her the reviews online must be true, as hard as it is to communicate with her. She said she was the manager and was the one who told him to leave when he put me on hold. These people would be better suited to other jobs than Papa John's.
I do not do business with fools, if I can help it. I will tell everyone I know and meet about the poor service I received and to beware of the terrible service there. I suggest you do the same and warn others of poor places of business. We need better service than this in Durham!
