Best

Undoubtedly the best gelato in ATL. Sure, Paolo has all kinds of sweet treats on display (I'm curious about the chocolate pyramids) but don't get distracted -- you want the gel...

Worst

Besides the rude lady who makes you feel like you're not even welcome in the store which is backwards, this place is the only place I know of in Atlanta that sells Gelato unless s...

Ok...but not the best! 9/16/2008

It s good but overpriced. You can get higher quality ice cream at Morelli's gourmet ice cream in East Atlanta and a such better price. And more: you can have as many samples as you want. Not only one! more

Good Gelato....But Sogno Gelato is better in Alpharetta ! 2/15/2007

If you have not tasted this before, you have missed a taste extravaganza. Sogno Gelato have original recipes from Italy. They serve only the best ingredients and the necessary equipment is imported from Italy to make sure you get the true Italian experience. Take a trip and see for yourself. They also have a neat website. www.sognogelato.com more

Authentic but overpriced Gelato 3/28/2006

I have had delicious gelato while vacationing in Italy and Paolo definately knows what he's doing. His gelato shares the same deep and satisfying taste as the authentic Italian treat but I have a difficult time paying over $5 a scoop for the privilege. If you have a serious craving for the stuff, go for it...otherwise, I think you're better off buying some Ben and Jerry's and pocketing the change. One other problem I have with Paolo's is their policy of only accepting cash. As someone who hardly ever has cash on-hand, this is a problem. more

paolo's is perfection 8/17/2005

I have been to Italy, and Paolo's gelato is just like how I remember them being. I don't know what it is about gelato, but it's just so creamy and smooth, definitely more than regular ice cream, and I think it may actually be healthier for you too. Paolo, the owner, is actually from Italy, so of course this is authentic gelato, but he also has some creative concoctions, where he makes gelato into shapes that resemble food items, like spaghetti and meatballs. Paolo himself is one crazy cat - crooning to customers while serving them ice cream, he has a magnetic personality. I would go there everyday if I could. more

Great selection, personality 8/4/2005

this little gelato shop in VaHi (virginia-highland) is one of the best and most authentic gelato shops in atlanta. I've been to italy, and the gelato made here is much the same, minus the crazy europeans screaming at u to hurry up. The owner/manager, Paolo, is friendly and outgoing. The flavors change weekly, or at least thats how often i notice the changes. The pricing is a tad steep, but considering the neighborhood and the rarity of good gelato in Atlanta, i'm not surprised. the marzipan and other candies sold in the shop are also overpriced, but are worth a try. It is very busy on the weekends (lines) but on a weekday, it gives you time to enjoy the gelato and all this charming little shop has to offer. more
