Decent Food - Fast Service 10/20/2005

So Palapas is a good place to get a quick bit to eat. I have eaten there quite often. Not the best Mexican food around but definitely a good value for your $. A lot of their sauces taste like they come out of the can, but then again who knows. Overall it is a good place for a quick bite to eat. more

Best Burrito's 9/21/2003

Working in the Financial District I find it difficult to find good places for lunch that are inexpensive (most places tend to be extremely expensive). While the service isn't always that great, the food is consitently outstanding. I usually get the El Grecco which is a Burrito filled with Spinach, chicken, rice, and feta cheese. While not authentic it's very tasty. One of the best things I've had at this place is the Chicken Enchilada's, this isn't a regular menu item but when it's one of their lunch specials it's out of this world. They also Cater, I frequently have catered lunch meetings and this makes a good change from the standard sandwiches. more

Refused to Correct Mistake 8/26/2003

I got a sauteed vegatable taco, which pretty much sucked, then I found a piece of chicken in it. I'm a vegetarian so I took it to the manager of sorts who disputed with me whether a white, stringy cube was actually chicken. When I told him I wanted my money back he wouldn't refund me the money for the chips because I had ate some of them before I hit the chicken. Forgot this place. more

Worst burrito in years 6/21/2003

Okay, maybe I am a taqueria snob, but as an aficionado of the unique burritos coming from the city's outer neighborhoods I just wasn't ready for this downtown ""wrap"" style burrito. The ""texas burito"" or somesuch had smoky sweet southern sauce, a questionable food combination with soft rice, cooked veggies, and a soft flour tortilla. I should have known better but I didn't believe they would actually doing it, I expected carne asada. It could have been good though, but it was overcooked and completely underflavored. It made me very sad. The place looks good, clean, friendly service so I was hoping for more. . . maybe I came on a bad day. Pros: clean, friendly service Cons: tasteless burrito more

Been Going Here for Years 5/23/2003

I always look forward to visiting San Francisco for business because I get to visit this tasty delight every day of the week! I always know that I can go here and get a DELICIOUS lunch (I recommend the Cabo Catch if you like seafood), in short order, and at a reasonable price. The same folks have worked there for years - this is a quality place! I have sent so many of my friends there over the years and the come back raving!! You won't be disappointed. Couple of tips - go BEFORE the 12 noon lunch rush and always carry cash - cc's not accepted. Pros: Great speedy service, High quality eats, Fast Cons: Cash not accepted more
