One of my friends was in town recently from NY and wanted to try some real Cuban food. It is hard to find authentic Cuban food here. There is more of that down further south in Miami. However, Padrino's right in Mission Bay Plaza has some great almost home cooked Cuban food. They have a great buffet that always features salad, chicken soup, rice and beans, chicken, beef and pork dishes. My favorite is the fried plantains and yucca. For $7.95 or so for all you can eat you can't go wrong. They also make a mean Cubano sandwich if you like that. I have also had dinner there a few times and they usually have great fresh seafood specials. Not too expensive with a home cooked quality. Padrino's is great for good Cuban.
