Wonderful Sunday Brunch! 2/26/2008

My husband and I had Sunday brunch and were very impressed. The food was excellent and the service was very good. We enjoyed visiting with the owner, that's a nice touch! We are anxious to eat there again and will take friends with us. Pros: Great food, great service Cons: Heavy traffic more

Excellent boiled shrimp and fresh raw oysters! 1/2/2008

Excellent choice for fresh shrimp and oysters! The different cheese choices with the mashed potatoes is a refreshing change. The quail is excellent. Pros: Really fresh seafood! more

The Worst Seafood Ever 7/9/2007

My family and I visited this place on a Friday night and when we first walked in we were already a little puzzled as to why the entire restaurant only had about 10 guests! (This is not very typical for a seafood restaurant on a Friday night). By the time the food came out, we were ready to go! It then became apparent why the place was empty. The food was absolutly horrible! The fish fillets were the size of chicken nuggets and thier shrimp (grilled and fried) were absolutly disgusting! This place should be put out of business! Cons: too many to explain more

Just wonderful 2/26/2007

The best comparison for PK's is Pappadeaux, same price range, same categories of food. Upon entering the restaurant, you are promptly greeted and seated. The service is quality, they go fast enough that you aren't left wondering what happened to your server, yet they are slow enough that you don't feel rushed and enjoy your meal. The food is amazing! The rellano stuffed with shrimp and crab are amazing! Be sure to get those as an appetizer! The portions are good. The first time there I tried the fried shrimp, and they were just ok. But our second time I tried some items off of their mesquite grill, and those are just awesome! That seems to be their bread and butter, just order off the mesquite grill and you will not be disappointed! When you get your bill, you'll see its not the cheapest place in town, but when you factor in the amount of food and the superior quality, it has to be one of the best bargains around! Pros: Mesquite grill, Ambience, Parking more

Great fresh seafood, great family atmosphere, bring the kids, superb staff 2/9/2007

Upon entering the Bluewater Grill, I was greeted by an extremely friendly and attentive staff. Nice bar and happy hour special on food and drink. My wife arrived, kids in tow. We were attentively served excellent food. The kids loved the shrimp and grilled chicken children's menu, which was extremely reasonable at 5 to 6 bucks a plate. I ordered the raw oysters, very fresh and salty from Matagorda Bay. Wife had the mesquite grilled shrimp, and I had the mesquite grilled redfish. Both were very fresh and well flavored. Steamed and roasted veggies on the side that even the kids enjoyed. Menu is as rich or light as you want. This is truly a neighborhood gem that families should not hesitate to frequent. Pros: Food, parking, service and great for families more

PK's Is Our Kind of Place 2/7/2007

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole neighborhood. I go here all the time, and I bring all my friends and colleagues here. When I don't have time to dine, I can quickly get take-out. Pros: Very Nice Waitstaff Cons: None to report more

Good food, nothing new to this side of town. 2/7/2007

In short it just like Goode Company seafood, so if you like them you will like this place. It pretty much the same just not as fun of a place. (Kirby Dr.) I would have liked it more if the owner(s) would have made it more different. I was not a big fan of the look of the place, lots of blue. more

Fresh Fish?........... Great Service...... 11/16/2006

Well I would have given this place pretty good reviews since I have eaten there twice without incident and had decent service. The fish served to me(I think it was halibut) was fresh and the orders were nice size where I could split it with my husband and have a salad or soup which would be plenty for us. Anyway, we told my son about this place and his fist visit he really enjoyed the fish and raved about it to us about how fresh it was. On his second visit there however he got sick from his dinner, and said the place was awful and that he never was going to go there again. Anyway, I just don't know about P.K's I think my son should have said something to them but he just said he doesn't plan to go back there again. I don't know what to think since I was welcoming a new restaurant to the neighborhood and this happened. I guess I would try it again but there are other restaurants nearby which I haven't experienced this. Pros: Good Value, Nearby neighborhood restaurant needed Cons: seafood made my son sick on his second visit. more

Super Flounder & Crab/Shrimp Appetizer 11/13/2006

This New place is casual with a fun atmosphere. The bar area is a great place to munch on appetizers and watch sports on the TV's. Tried the shrimp/crab rellenos--out of this world and the dip was a spicy ranch that is deliteful. Pros: Good Ambience & Yummy Food! more

Flies, Flies, Flies 9/27/2006

We were so dissapointed in PK's as that restaurant site has been so many eateries. The porch is nice and the weather was lovely but the minute the food came out the flies, and hundreds of them appeared. The owner was nice and moved us inside but the food was about as appetizing as the flies. The broccoli was raw and the rest of the meal was slightly eatible. The chef needs to take a cooking class from New Orleans chefs who know how to cook seafood. more

Excellent food and service! 9/3/2006

As a chance find for our 12th Anniversary, we treked to the west side for this ""great catch."" The ONLY complaint is were didn't get to have any of the famed mashed potatos, but the rest of our dinner was exemplary. Server was very knowledgable of the menu and had recommendations that fit our pallete like he knew us. Pricing was great, portions were more than adequate, and we will return with guests! Wife has the salmon, I had the redfish, both of which were very well prepared. Finishing off the a brick of Amy's Vanilla Ice cream with chocolate drizzle, and a single serving of Key Lime. Superb. Add the bonus of sharing our experience with the manager - a feature missing from many of today's ""name brand"" restaurants, and we consider our Anniversary dinner a very very pleasant evening. Pros: Great appetizers, good portions, modest fare more

Best seafood at best prices! 8/25/2006

Aside from the awesome seafood.....the rice and the green beans were the best I've ever eaten. And, the prices were amazingly low. You definitely get your money's worth and more....here. Pros: Food, Service more

Good and Bad 8/23/2006

Where do I start: Pros: food Cons: everything else more

Great food - reasonable prices 8/17/2006

PK´s is a wonderful addition to the area, with very reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. Both P.K. and the Cody (bar manager) make a point of introducing themselves and ensuring you are enjoying your experience. Definitely have their version of Ceviche to start and the steak was excellent and cooked perfectly (not always the case in a seafood restaurant). In addition to the dining room and bar area, there is a beautiful verandah. PKs is definitely worth a visit. more

Fabulous Seafood, Beautiful Restaurant and Bar, Terrific Service 8/16/2006

My husband and I noticed this new restaurant in our neighborhood along with some friends of ours and so we decided to give it a ""try"" last Friday night. Much to our surprise (since it has been several different restaurants) I believe we have a ""keeper""!!!! Not only is the restaurant and bar itself very inviting with the softness of blue tones, hence ""Blue Water"", but from the moment you arrive, the friendly staff and service let you know you are ready for something special. Every dish we ordered was delicious! The shrimp and crab cocktail is to die for with just the right amount of spice! The grilled scallops and shrimp wrapped in bacon are moist and perfectly cooked. We were also amazed at the prices for such a lovely place. The portions are generous and drinks are definitely made to order! Pros: Food, Service, Value Cons: Not a thing more
